Skoda Octavia. Nice and clean, but no multi bolt gun.

These guys built my car! It's even my generation (2008-13) being built on the video. Interesting, to say the least.

Glad to hear it! The Alfa one was linked from Auto Motor & Sport, the rest are due to somewhat unhealthy obsession with industrial assembly and robotics. I also like to compare my own experiences to the videos. Skoda plant looks just about right, except for lack of bolt gun and manual fit of the windscreen. And their cars fly in the air and the floor moves, I worked on a less modern skid based fixed floor line. Also nice that it shows much paintshop, usually cameras don't go in there because it's "boring" and clean and all that.

As strange as it is I miss the noise from the plant. Robots shifting position. The subtle variation in high pitched whine you hear from the conveyors [19:33 in the Skoda video]. The continous ventilation noise. My deskjob is so quiet.

Informed readers of this thead will note that the embedding on page 1 used the old format and no longer work, so let's restore them! First, we need to restore two Trabant videos.

#1. Trabant QC w/ porn music

#2. General Trabant assembly w/ GDR girl scout music.

Further restored videos:
AAh one of my favourite subjects (I'm damaged goods).

Dacia Sandero (note the HUGE difference between this and the Modus production)

Alfa-Romeo MiTo

Renault Modus (ROBOTS!!!1)

Golf VI 1

Golf VI 2

Golf VI 3

What the hell?
Oh the racket and the dirt and the spoken language! I need subtitles! :D

Now let's visit VAG once again. Here, the Audi A3 in German. Good thing everyone understands german.

VW T3 Part 1 with early (and nervous) computerized robots

VW T3 Part 2 (with lightsaber noises and two-tone body work)

TW T3 Part 3

Can you say manual labor? And bicycles.

Random thought: Only 3000 PNs per vehicle? A company we (my company) work with makes seats for airplanes... Some are over 5000 part numbers per assembly.

5000! Does that include ever single little nut or screw used in the seats?

They might be talking about assembly part numbers. A lot of stuff comes pre-assembled from suppliers, like the seats for instance - the plant might refer to that as the one part number for the assembly while engineers refer to each and every part number within the assembly.

The Lada vid is great! One every 21 seconds! Also yes of course we must produce more cars than target to celebrate an anniversary! Naturally!
I like how all the modern production videos always go for epic music.

More motorhome!

Really? Family?

It's fascinating to see the fhe first few minutes, that level of mechanical automization and large flow being possible without computer assistance. But it does look a bit like an accident waiting to happen at 3:30 with people and machines so close.

Unimog!

Let's also have a look at a Great Wall plant. In Bulgaria. I had no idea chinese manufacturers already had set up shop in Europe, even though the video is of pre-production (and the process seems oddly cumbersome, like the dashboard assembly).
