Game: Assetto Corsa

Game physics porn.

Very nice!

Love the idea though, this is sure to be a huge hit! Challenges me to create as many TG cars as I can think of

Best thing is somewhere down the line it'll be possible to enter it in a 24 hour race, hopefully they allow us to have a single car and switch drivers like in LFS. :)

Does anyone play this with a controller? If so, how well does it work? I've been trying out Project CARS recently with a controller (sometimes I just feel too lazy to use a wheel) and it is a bit iffy, I was wondering if this game might have more fleshed out controls.

I tried having a go with a logitech f710.. didn't bother too much with setting up the controls.. on the default settings it feels to sensitive and you can easily go from no steering to full lock.. but i presume that if you play with the sensitivity and other setting you can get some results..

Download the Logitech software as it won't install when you plug in. That will help solve the steering lock thing.

I play with Xbox 360 Controller, no complaints whatsoever. I don't think I needed to do any tweaking with the controls at all, it felt very good right away.

finally got round to trying the RBR track this evening. Such good fun hustling cars up there and terrifying as well. Realised it's harder than RBR with not having pace notes to let you know what's coming. absolutely loving this game, can't wait for the AI (hopefully next week by the looks of things)

Is sound something they are working on? While they aren't the worst I've heard, the engine sounds are pretty lacking. The F40 is a good example. It sounds basically correct, but it sounds just bad.

Edit:

Just watched this:

Holy crap, it looks so real!! I need this game. Hurry up and release the full version already!

Why do you want to wait, this version is so good as is! Really!

Wait, they have that available now? GAAAAA I want to get home and have a go but I'm stuck at work

Is there a list of currently available content somewhere? I'd like to see what else they have added since the last time I tried this.

Some time in November. Before GT6 came out.

Anyway, I got to try out that Joux Plane stage last night. Sweeeet! :D

Also, for whatever reason my pad settings had reset themselves into something really odd since the last time I played but it was pretty straightforward to get them back.

I still wish they'd give me the chance to map the clutch to a button and adjust it's sensitivity, though. The automatic clutch is still quite harsh on some cars and causes the rears to break traction on gearchanges.

I'm finding, like in the F40, because I don't have a clutch, that I have to let off the gas to shift. Basically I simulate my actions if I had a clutch, it fixes that problem.

I do that as well, but it doesn't help in some cars. All the Lotuses are pretty much undriveable, and in other cars it can get pretty wild at times. I just wish I had more control over it, because everything else works so well.
