Australian V8 Supercars

Road America maybe?

Anyway, does anyone know who the announcers will be on SPEED?

Marcos Ambrose will be a commentator for next weeks event. Not sure about next year.

Anyone else here going to Sydney 500 ?

Sydney 500 is fucken awesome.

Have you been inside the indoor pits?
Is it as awesome as the pictures tell us? :D :D

Yes and yes. ;) At some parts of the track you are no more than a metre away from the track.

That track is like Adelaide, but more mental. Everyone had so much trouble with that one corner (can't remember which one, but the one where everyone crashed into the tyre wall)

Whincup absolutely fried the shit out of the tyres. ;) Walking on the track after the race was over, i saw the tyres on the car and they were down to the belts.

Now if only every round this year was like this one, what an awesome way to finnish up. I believe it was turn 8 that everyone kept hitting the tyres. Well deserved championship win for Whincup.

Turn 8 was the problem corner while many people had trouble at turn 1 on the bumps and different road surfaces.

Was a great weekend.

Did any of our American brothers catch the race?

I wish they would come here for a round.

When I actually had cable (I'm off the grid now), I would watch the races. I would get frustrated though as THIS IS WHAT NASCAR SHOULD BE LIKE!! You hear that France family? I'm sick and tired of the soap opera that NASCAR has become. And the purpose built cars are boring as hell. Give me production based machines like you find in the V8 supercar series from down under!!

Sorry folks....I hope the Aussie series comes to the States and shows people what a real series should be like.

But unfortunately the series bosses want it to be more like NASCAR

I'm hoping they dont change it too much, its good the way it is now.

This video shows how close the cars come to the walls.

Reminds me a lot of Surfers Paradise with the straights linked by chicanes, though it sort of has a bit of an Adelaide feel to it.

If by production based you mean $500,000 purpose built silhouette race cars then yeh......
