To be fair, the Jeep currently only has Jeep and GM parts. But a bag of Mercedes components arrived yesterday...

Nope, these are the dome light switches for the doors. The problem with the TJ is you have to pull the 10A fuse when you remove the doors or the dome lights stay on all the time. These switches from Mercedes have a built-in "off" feature; Essentially it's a plunger with an Off-On-Off configuration. Door closed? Off. Door open? On. Remove the door and pull the plunger out to a lock position and it is now locked "off" without having to add another switch or remove the fuse every time.
