Awesome Thread... [Automotive Edition]

If you really want two engines, why not use the same ones? :p

Mothers polish/wax website used to have a CRX featured that had 2 engines. The stock motor in the front, and an Oldsmobile 425 in the back. the front engine was for economy (towing a 700lb anchor) and the olds was for speed.

Now, make that murcielago RWD.

New AC Cobra (MkVI):

Corvette engines, 437 and 647hp (LS9!!!!!); 1025kg.

Hardtop with Gullwings.

Whole car is being built in Germany.

:jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

WANT.

end of statement.

Now that I calmed down and changed my pants, I took a look at the car and realized.... Those gullwings are useless since it still has a regular door. They just add weight/complexity/cost.

But still, who ever said that useless is bad if it look that good.

And I still stand by my earlier statement.... WANT!! badly!

I think that "gullwing door" is silly, but the rest is amazing.

It's not useless. You need to do that to get into the car; I've sat in (or tried to) Cobra coupe replicas, and it's damned near impossible to get in for anyone over 5'9" unless you resort to some undignified contortions.

I'm 5'7" :p

Probably more dignified than the time my dad (6'2") drove a '56 Thunderbird - he couldn't operate the clutch with the door closed.

Ahaa that should have been fun, open door, press the clutch, engage 1st gear, release clutch, close the door.

Front wheel drive?

WTF

that escort is AMAZING and more importantly FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!

They have disconnected the rear drive for testing.

Shit.. The interceptor intercepted me..
