Pontiac 6000 STE

Four wheel disks, auto leveling rear suspension, all wheel drive, digital dash, and it doesn't look terrible. Deficient in the power department though.

^^^^ that thing was a complete pile of fucking shit!

You have posted to the wrong thread. This is the AWESOME thread, not the AWFUL thread.

Yeah! Now you too can be the coolest guy in community college!

Pwned!

It's a slightly interesting car in a sea of shitty cars that GM made in the 80's. But that's not even close to being worthy of being posted in the Awesome Thread. I don't even think cars like the Citroen DS and SM, which are some of the most interesting cars ever made, were posted here yet. With that in mind, I don't see how the 6000 STE can even hope to compete.

I have a feeling this is carbage, but when I first glanced at it, I thought it was sort of awesome

Which reminds me of some of the 80s jokes about what "STE" was an abbreviation of:

Stunningly Terrible Electronics
Serial Towing Experiences
Sometimes Tries Exploding
Stalls Then Explodes
and my personal favorite - Standby The Extinguisher.

An Awful thread. Hmmmm. :hmm:
Interesting idea.

Edit: Forgot about the carbage thread momentarily.

:roflmao:

I too have a weak spot for terrible 80's GM cars, but I really don't think it belongs in the Awesome Thread. Ahh, all I need now is Motorweek to tell me all about this.....beauty. Shame it only came with a 3 speed auto (though a 5 speed box was a no charge option), and a carbed engine when other manufacturers were starting to use fuel injection (though it did get fuel injection by the end of it's life).

I'll post up the vids/dyno as soon as I find them :p

HOLY SHIT! What sort of horsepowerage does that make??

The Lambo and the Pontiac 6000 are both equally awesome.

:D

Who did that mod? And: The exhaust pipes ar FAR too small.

This particular one was done by Underground Racing.
There are 2 others (i think) done by DLM and there is 1 IMSA Murcielago currently being built by Heffner Performance.

There are probably 30+ TT Gallardo's running around nowadays(most by Heffner performance, although Underground has made quite a few recently pushing 1200+HP).. It is good to see some people stepping it up with the M car :D

I'm really interested to see how much HP this car is pushing because apparently the chassis is quite weak compared to the G.. unless they have added strengthening bars or something..

So when it drives away, it spins the planet the other way because of the monstrous POWWWAAAAAHH!!!!
