Awesome Thread... [Automotive Edition]

There also happens to be an RX-792P behind the Leyton House 962.

More rotary-powered goodness for you to drool over, I guess.

(It didn't win it's class, though, for two reasons: 1. Underpowered. Its R26B developed about 620hp, compared to the 800+hp of the front-running cars it would occasionally score podiums against. (The exhaust also used to have a nasty habit of setting the bodywork on fire, and Mazda struggled to get it under the 108dB limit IMSA enforced.) 2. Toyota/AAR had their Mk. III, which was nigh-on unstoppable, aside from the odd challenge from Nissan and Jaguar/TWR.

And of course, sticking with rotary-powered prototypes...

The Argo JM-19, also a two-rotor, complete with ugly exhaust...

The JM-19 evolved into the Kudzu DG-1, which was essentially a 7/8th Argo (and with the exhaust inside the body, and gradually evolved into...

...the DG-3, an evolution of the piston-powered DG-2. Same ugly exhaust as the Argo (packaging reasons *not enough room*), but connected to a three-rotor, and which became the DL_ series of WSC prototypes... (A modified DG-3 won the 1994 WSC championship)

And just because, here's a video of one on the street...

HOLY WIDEBODY batman :O

That Marcos was posted on Barryboys some time ago, basically it's a very well made fake. None of the vents on the car serve a purpose, and there is no such thing as a Marcos LM600 EVO.It's just a butchered road car made to look like a LMS racer.

There is... The Marcos LM600 raced in international GT-Racing series from 1995 and is still raced by the dutch Team Eurotech Racing. It was very successful in the BRDC championship series and took a few BPR-GT outright victories, despite being a GT2 car. The late models (often branded "EVO") were very highly developed and very wide, running a 6,8-liter GM V8. It was basically the cheapest way into a top spec GT car, being somewhere around 1/3 the price of a Porsche 993 GT2 EVO.
