During this year's season I started a channel and have been regularly uploading clips and features of the best moments brought by the F1 2011 season.
And now even have dedicated more energy given the fact the excellent BBC coverage is gonna be almost gone next year.
Hopefully the trade-off will be overshadowed by the even better production quality next year.

So I decided to start this thread by assembling a the "little" playlist with some of the best tracks featured this season.

The ID progress so far:

The BBC's editors seem to love Hocus Pocus by Focus. It shows up quite often.

Could you help me discover the song that plays during the tyre feature of the build up?
It's the first song that plays while the tyres are going through rain.
Thanks!

Sadly, the singer is never heard without someone talking over it. But the whole piano-intro-then-guitars-then-singing is typical Guns N Roses, while the production, especially of the background singing, reminds me of Let it Bleed-era Stones.

Nice... Haven't noticed this season so far. Probably because I am moron.
I added it to the 2010 list though:D

Brundle on how many tires is a Pink Floyd song. Could be a section from "Echoes" of from "The Great Gig in the Sky", would have to check.

It's "Any Colour You Like". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSof_yjoIuU

And the "soft vs wet tire" in the first video is the piano solo from Layla (i.e. the second part of the song that rarely seems to get airplay).

The second part isn't "Layla", is it?

Theoretically it is, practically... yeah, it's not exactly the same song.
I know that the piano solo is part of the track "Layla" - if it's the same song is as much up to debate as it is with Time/Breath reprise" on DSOTM. I meant the second part of the video's soundtrack, which still has a very Stonesy feel to me.

Clearly a couple of people with an ear for quality :). Very close, it's actually 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking' (Cocaine Eyes) off Sticky Fingers. Great album.

*EDIT: R11 - Hungarian GP - Tyre Compounds/Strategy: She's a Rainbow - The Rolling Stones.
