Since I missed the last GT4 challenge here with the M3 CSL, I figure it'd be fun to have another.

As you saw in the last episode of Top Gear, Clarkson got a 1:41.148 with an NSX on Laguna Seca. Can you do better? Can you beat an opinionated 130-year old geezer with a pot belly and a bald spot? ;)

The rules:

You can use an NSX or NSX-R, as there's still debate on which one Jeremy used (selected an NSX Type-S, but raced an NSX-R).
Basically, you can use:
- NSX
- NSX-R (NOT NSX-R Concept)
- NSX Type-S
Must be the newer fixed-headlight variant.

No modifications whatsoever, tires must be Sports Medium. Driving aids and tuning can be altered. Oil changes and carwashes are ok.

GT mode, Free Run.

No cutting through anything! That includes the Corkscrew! Read this to see how not to cheat.

PM me the laptimes, including what controller and what NSX model (Type-S, R, etc.) and I'll post them here.

Remember, Clarkson got a 1:41.148. That's the time to beat!

i used an NSX-R with no mods, no oil change, car wash. with dualshock controller and got 1:39.597
 
I actually did that right after watching the ep. Did it with a Type-S only with road tires to match the grip of the real car better. Made a 1:41.234

with normal tires? thats pretty impressive

I'll have a go later today.

Just like M3Lover, I will use Standard-Road tires for maximised realism and NO goddamn TCS. No oil change either..

Using Driving Force Pro. Will do it later ;)
 
Best I've mustered so far is 1:41.811 in my brand-new NSX-R (it's blue!). It's harder than I thought; I keep taking the 3rd corner too slow because the first two are tricky. Surprisingly, I have no problem with the Corkscrew. How fast are you going through that?

As for everybody else, come on! I'm sure you can do better than Clarky! :dance:
 
I had an awesome time after episode using sport soft tires, got a 1.38.326. PM'ed Blaro my real time. :)
 
I'll post pics when I get my digi-cam back in about an hour ;)

I think I managed a 1:42-ish.

More details soon.
 
^ Don't believe you... Jezza must have cheated.. (crap, just checked, your ultra realism, at least for GT4)

Everybody in here should be better than the old guy with only digital control... (I can't believe he only poked the D-pad instead of using the analof stick...)

Pretty obvious I can't really go faster than around 1:43

I wouldn't mind seeing Skylines lap on photo. What tires were he on? Also he was using the stick.

And as for Clarkson....well, we all know whats up with that <_<

JC did his time in Arcade mode (it was the Arcade mode car selection screen they showed) - in that mode I've done a high 1:36 on Sports Medium tyres with a DS2 controller. Haven't had a run in GT mode yet.

Shouldn't we be using Arcade mode if we're comparing times to JC? Or do we leave it as a GT mode challenge (my preference) and lose the JC comparison?
 
Gonna have to break my PS2 out for this. :D

Well, they showed screenshots out of both in the video, but:
1. If he wanted a more accurate comparison, he would have done it in GT mode.
2. It's too late to change now... :unsure:
