hello all,
just curious what everybody thinks would be the best 70's to 80's model of porsche, if i ever bought one. prices seem resonable for the years, and they usually still are great cars.

i'm going to have a 1984 911 since i was born in 911
but thier interiors suck!

One that's not listed is the Porsche 930, which I really enjoyed in the early 80's. It was just a turbocharged 911 with a few body modifications and extra wide rear tires.

thanks, i guess i missed that one. i'll look into that one too.

Ultra_Kool_Dude,
i definitely would not have the money for that  , but it would be totally awesome  .

I was just browsing on Ebay and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4555279550&category=6433

This was identical to the one I used to drive. I loved that car. I bought it used with about 25,000 miles on it, and I put over 50,000 miles on it before I traded it in. The 0-60 MPH was around 4.5 seconds and it was like driving a big toy.

(Whoops, mine was 1983, but it looked a lot like the 1988 one in the auction.)

Does the 959 count?

what's so great about it?

it's even faster, but who cares about top speed
and if u ask me, it's ugly with the extended rear

i would have voted for 911RS, there is more to 911 than just 911, plenty of different cars that look a lot the same.

My fav 911's came from that periode. I just love the huge bumper and large spoiler containing the radiator.

Dream car:
