Frankfurt and back -> 950 km

At least on the way home (in the evening/night) it was great... Only went slower than 200 km/h if there were any citys near...
Car was only a 530d, but thats quite OK on the motorway ;-)

Lol sounds good man.

On way back up from France we came thro like west Italy Swiss tunel (name evades me) germany all that to Zeibrugghe Ferry Amazing Did you go into Frankfurt Ain't stopped in Germany Or antything stopped Italy would like to do more tho !

My best drive: with a Peugot Boxer van from Brussels to a town in France (500km) on B roads, to avoid the p?age on the motorway. We went with 6 people and it took us a whole day to get there.

Most b roads in France only have one lane, so if we got behind a truck, we got stuck for a LONG time :) The van didn't have a turbo diesel, so it accelerated like a snail. But it was my favourite drive ever.

Music: good old Dire Straits and Led Zeppelin and AC/DC for when we got sleepy.

Isn't this in quite the wrong section?

Lol Sounds like one those thing that end up having you on the ground laphing with your mates after,
I had a courtesy car once a 106 1.1 some base model thing and me and two mates took it to Berwick upon tweed lol on wayback up to EDINBURGH gear linkage fell out, it was th gates to select gears lol NOT GOOD. really funny tho worth it...

You're from Edinburgh? I'm pretty near Glasgow. Which means road trips across Europe have to have at least 8 hours of UK driving beforehand, unfortunately.

Distance: 800Km (From Maracaibo to Puerto La Cruz, two cities from Venezuela)

Car: Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG

Music: From Tiesto, to Apocalyptica and Metallica.

Best Part: Going to 140 mph on the motorway listening Paul Oakenfold "Ready, Steady, Go!

Distance: 1/4 Mile

Car: 1996 Thunderbird

Music: Pure V8 Exhaust

Best Part: The shift from 2nd to 3rd, when it really picks up

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Distance: 300km (From D?sseldorf to Hannover for BMW Driver Training)

Car: 325i

Music: Pff, don't know, but obviously something good

Best Part: Racing another 325i for about 30km at 220-240km/h and finding a new friend in the process

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Distance: 100km of Autobahn

Car: Dad's XKR

Music: Supercharger whistle and that distinct howl of the V8. My Dad saying "I'll hit the sport button, then floor it" was music in my ears as well.

Best Part: Doing 280km/h at 1am and surviving.

Distance: About 12 KM
Location: Downtown Vancouver
Ride: 2004 E46 M3

Oooh....that, and a 2200KM trek from Calgary, Alberta, to Vancouver, BC and back in a rented Sebring; also with no license, no insurance, and an underaged driver. It was like...Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, without the convertible.

You should try out the ferrys from Newcastle, they come in really handy if you want to avoid driving all the way to Dover through Britain (takes a night to get over to Holland, but the trip won't cost you much more than the Dover-Calais connection)

Distance-247 miles
Time-3.5 Hours
Place- Houston TX to Austin TX
Ride-2005 Mazda3
Passengers-None
Music- Bush-Greatest Hits, Seether-Karma and Effect, Custom Driving CD including all the TG picks
Best Part-Highway 71 on the far side of Austin
Scenario-Friends were at a lakehouse near Austin. I had to work the day they left, but the next day I left at 4 AM to head up there. At 4 AM there is absolutely no traffic on the roads, and I was cruising at 100+ MPH for nearly the whole way. Just as I was passing through Austin, the sun started to come up. I got onto Highway 71, which is the best road I have ever driven on. 2 lanes each direction, 70MPH limit most of the way, spectacular scenery and hills and curves all over the place. Driving along the road with the sun coming up, I almost doubled back and drove it again before going the rest of the way.

Wow. I would love to do that; I've always wanted to drive through the southern States - California, Nevada, Texas....driving through the desert on the open roads. Might get a chance to get down there this summer; just rent a car, and break as many speed limits as possible; since I'm in Canada, it won't matter if I get caught!

More Scots. :)

The Rosyth - Zeebrugge ferry is your friend, you can be doing 170mph up the A7 less than 8 hours after landing...

I spent almost 12 very plesant minutes on the A70 Lang Whang from Carstairs to Balerno last summer, which was nice. 8)

My best ever drive: first and second lap on the Nordschleife. I'll never forget those. After those it became less intense (but still very fun nonetheless).

My dream...

Car: Aston Martin DB9 or Aston Martin V12 Vanquish S
Location: Around Europe - Through (but not in the specific order, obviously) France, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Checz Republic and Italy.
With: My girlfriend.
Music: Everlast
Best part: All of it..

Best drive:

Car: Citroen Xantia 1.8i
With: My father.
Location: From Skopje, Macedonia to Bitola, Macedonia and back.
Distance: Uh.. 450ish km, ranging from highway, to mountain roads, to gravel. We were going to a ceremonial opening of a mine by one of the companies that my father works with.
Music: Whatever was on the radio..
Best part - "flooring" the Xantia on a brand new stretch of highway. And spending the whole day with my dad.
