On the roadcar they originally tested on the rolling road, yes. But this car was built up from a racecar with restrictors in the inlet. This is visible on most racecar with those long and thin trumpets pointing forwards.

Feature of this car in EVO:

Seriously, is everything legal in Europe?

How the hell can you get a registration for a car like this? :? :? :? :?

The thing is we have good vehicle tests.. where as say America for example you can drive a car with three wheels, and no floor whilst sat on milk crates and nothin happens.

FYI This isnt a US bashing post. :p

9 bids allready. Now $275.100... That's actually pretty cheap for a car like that if you ask me.

What a mess of a turbo that thing is. 1400hp / 900tq... sweet. I just cant deal with the weight of Supras.

TVR Speed 12

Good deal! Only 156,000 Pounds! I'd buy it....

Nice scans of the article, I love EVO magazine.

LOTEC MBZ

LOTEC cars are so cool. I hope EVO can get their hands on it and take some shots. The last LOTEC they featured was so nice. This one shows its Group C / 80's heritige. Sweet.

I personally like the 65 and newer Corvairs better. You don't see too many of the wagons though. In fact, I've never seen one in person. Very cool cars!

Bonus points to whoever knows how they came up with the name Corvair. :)

I really want a Corvair at the moment. They just seem like neat cars and the wagon is badass.

I know that the Corvair was a show car based on the Vette but I am not sure how they came up with the name.

You missed the best pic. I don't really care for the car but the engine install is decent. Still, a 1400ph engine that will do nothing more than rev at car shows and move the car on and off trailers a 2mph.

Bah, I'm just not a show car guy. I shall shut it.

Well you are just no fun. And by the way, the guy who owned it actually drove it. It does have 4000 miles on the clock.

maybe a mix between Corvette and Bel-Air? just vague, baseless speculation

Vague and baseless, but correct. :)

Call me weird, but I actually like Corvairs better than Camaros and Mustangs. Even though some people say they're unsafe at any speed. We don't have many production vehicles at all here with the engine somewhere other than the front. Only ones I can think of are the Ford GT and Pontiac Fiero. I like the Fiero GTs. 8)

Smart Prototype???

WTF???

you have found the most amazing automobile to have ever existed

that and the Ligier JS4:

http://www.autohistories.com/ligier/

according to this site, you could drive it even if one of the teeny tiny wheels fell off. And it had a 49cc 2-cyl and then a 327cc diesel...

now keep in mind that Ligier also made Formula One cars
