I would've never thought that black paint and brown leather would be a good colour combo, yet here I am.

Of all three, I think it works the best on that E24. Then again, I have a soft spot for the E24 M635CSi. Not that the other two cars are shabby either.

Chocolate and peanut butter were made for each other. <3

Yes! All of them. The interior of the BMW looks superb, the Lancia is a Lancia and the colour combo in the DS looks great. I want to get close to that black paint too, it looks very shiny.

Mobile.de: Land Rover 1990 RANGE ROVER OVERFINCH 680CS MANUAL SPECIAL

6.8 litre Chevy small block and a 5-speed manual!

This very special Overfinch was commissioned to commemorate 20 years in the performance Range Rover Business.

The CS stands for celebration special, and was built to represent the pinnacle of Overfinch engineering.

Anybody familiar with Classic Overfinch Range Rovers will know that most of these vehicles were supplied with a 570ci chevy small block engine and automatic transmission. The car differs somewhat having a 6.8 litre hand built Chevy and Borg Warner 5 speed manual transmission. This is a very impressive engine achieving 0-60 in less than six seconds.

Over a 5 year period from 1996 to 2001 this vehicle had £60000 expenditure to create the unique vehicle that you see before you.

£48000 was spent in 1996 carrying out the full OVERFINCH conversion . This included the following:

6.8 litre chevy small block engine installed

uprated axle half shafts

extra large vented front brakes

ride and handling suspension stage 2

precision steering conversion

quick ratio steering box

sports leather MOMO steering wheel

Borg Warner manual transmission with heavy duty clutch and short shift

lightweight carbon bonnet

AVON performance tyres

Overfinch performance RECARO front seats retrimmed in matching cloth

replace roof panel and new headlining

all chassis box sections, rear quarter pillars and chassis fully rust proofed

various ancillary upgrades

OVERFINCH nevada split rim alloy wheels fitted

new reinforced differential fitted

higher lift camshafts

In addition to this the then owner had the engine fully overhauled in 2001 to the tune of £12000

We have copies of all the relevant invoices for the above listed works.

We have recently purchased the vehicle after it has stood for the last three years as the previous owner had moved overseas and no longer has time for the car.

Due to the unique nature of the car - (this is one of only 3 6.8 cars they ever produced according to OVERFINCH and the only manual), the car has undergone a no expense spared restoration by a local Range Rover specialist over the last 18 months

The car has been stripped to a bare chassis and shell and is being rebuilt to an unbelievably high specification. We have been approached by a couple of magazines who are wishing to feature the restoration process, such is the rare nature of this car.

The chassis has been stripped right back and had 2 small panels on the rear removed and replaced ( a known weak point) it was then coated with a zinc primer and coated with four coats of westminster grey paint before being lacquered ensure a quality finish far superior to the original.

The body has also been removed from the chassis with all common corrosive panels either repaired or replaced where necessary, this included the following: boot floor, footwells, inner wings, inner and outer sills and spare wheel well. the roof has also been removed from the body and will be painted separately to ensure a quality finish as it is much more difficult to prepare and polish the roof when in situ due to its sheer size.

The following works have also being carried out:

Interior has been fully retrimmed in tan leather which looks amazing! door cards have also been trimmed in grey leather with a tan detailing stitch and tan leather accents
Centre armrest and full console retried in grey leather with a contrast tan stitch (normally plastic)
Replacement headlining
Engine fully rebuilt including re grinding the crank and tuned correctly
Gearbox fully serviced

All HT leads replaced including distributor

New body mounts and bushes throughout
All brake and fuel lines replaced
new brake calipers, discs and pads
All four suspension springs replaced and 6 fresh shock absorbers
Two piece alloy wheels split and correctly refurbished including all stainless bolts replaced
New bumpers front and rear including replacement corners
New EFI Grille
New lights front and rear
Replaced lower spoiler
Replaced window seals and countless other tailgate/body seals

New upper and lower rear tailgate (genuine not replica item)

Please note that the yellow shock absorbers and springs featured in some of the photographs are now gloss black which is much more in keeping with the sombre nature of the styling (hated the yellow and the springs were far too high, looks fantastic now its sitting on the correct suspension.

I have included some images of the build so you can appreciate the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that is going into this stunning vehicle.

Anyone wishing to secure will need to provide a 15% deposit to secure.

Part exchange is available with any prestige, classic or modern vehicle(s).

The lucky buyer will also be presented with a folder containing a documented rebuild of this very special car.

Looking at the prices that are achieved for JLR reborn models and at other specialist Land Rover/Range Rover dealerships we believe this vehicle to be incredibly well priced allowing for appreciation in value for any prospective purchaser.

That's pretty damn gorgeous, looks like the same grey Keely was painted with. I think I would still prefer the 570ci monster though if we're going silly.

I just noticed an Overfinch Discovery that seemed familiar. Turns out I posted it to this thread 3 years ago and it still hasn't sold!

Selling an RHD Disco in germany cant be easy but you'd think it would've sold by now with that history at that price.

We are very excited by this, what must be, an exceedingly rare example.

Supplied new in Northern Ireland on the current registration number GBZ 4900 by Charles Hurst Ltd (Official Rolls-Royce / Bentley / Ferrari & Land Rover Dealers) when new and having stayed there ever since until being brought here in 2012, she remains in remarkable condition and has her original book pack, Overfinch build sheets/invoices and three GM service, parts and repair manuals.

The Overfinch Conversion was carried out in 1993 and included the following upgrades: -

  • GM 5.7 litre V8 engine - 24MPG Average
  • Overfinch full stainless steel exhaust system
  • Uprated braking with ventilated discs in lieu of plain
  • Overfinch anti-roll bars front & rear plus rear self-levelling units
  • Uprated dampers all round
  • Overfinch 20% more direct ratio steering gear (OEM manufactured quick rack)
  • Overfinch rose jointed Pan hard rod to the front axle
  • Overfinch Recaro contoured front seats in matching Land Rover fabric
  • Overfinch glass sunroof storage bag
  • Overfinch leather sports steering wheel
  • Overfinch 'Ferrari' style instruments
  • Overfinch additional fuel tank (twin tanks from a single filler)
  • Heated front windscreen
This cost £22.000 plus VAT in period!!!

On top of these Overfinch upgrades she is fitted with: -

  • 5 Speed manual gears
  • 7 seats
  • Twin sunroofs
  • Electric windows & mirrors
  • Phillips radio / cassette player with Pioneer sub-woofer
  • Rear Lamp guards
  • Auxiliary driving / spotlights
  • New 255/60VR16 tyres fitted to genuine Land Rover Sports 7 x 16 alloy wheels
She has recently been the subject of some major restoration works commissioned by her SECOND OWNER which included, but not exclusive to, new springs, new shock absorbers, bushes & clutch. The underside and bodywork were stripped, checked and repaired as necessary before being re-painted (the underside with the correct underseal and the body in Light Mistral Blue as per the original specification.

These works amounted to over £17.000, we then spent an additional 90 hours (£6480 Inc. VAT) on the car renewing all the suspension, replacing the tyres, setting the car up and fully detailing the Overfinch so she presents and drives in a manner expected with this sort of outlay.

A truly amazing vehicle which must be driven to be fully appreciated.

Wow, 14,000 for basically a roush mustang in a silly outfit?

MG ZT V8, the one that was picked half-baked off of the assembly line and driven to a shed in the back of the factory lot where a man called Phil had a big angle grinder, a hammer and a welder. I love it.
