In the season 16 preview it showed Hammond driving a HUGE truck through walls and over cars. And after watching all of season 16 in the UK format I didnt see the truck at all but i was really looking forward to seeing that segment. Was it cut from the Season?
Thanks,
It was cut, however there's always a possibility it could appear in the next season. Or it might not ever appear... There's been so many threads on this... X_X I'm guessing it's time to start locking them.
In the series 17 preview there is a few seconds of the film so assumably it's been saved and will appear in the upcoming series. Another treasure saved from the Top Gear "we'll show it later" bin? Time will tell.
Quick, what do the following segments have in common?
* James's review of the Alfa Romeo 159
* Richard driving Renault's Formula 1 car
* Richard's film celebrating 50 years of the BTCC
* Richard in the Toyota i-REAL concept
* Airport Vehicle Racing

don't even say they won't air it - don't even think it!
if we don't see the Marauder footage this season, think I will be physically ill from the sheer distress.
I hope they got a ton of letters begging them to air it. Mine was one of them!!! :lol:
so, what shellygrrl seems to be saying is that sometimes there are films that dont make the cut because maybe they had so much better stuff that they figured they would save it for later. Remember, sometimes a "season" can mean 2 "series". am i wrong here?
Usually Clarkson says something like "Here's a taster for what you'll see over the next nine/six/etc weeks". Every series has its own preview clip, even if it's in the same year. The BBC doesn't go by "seasons" so I don't think that's how it works.
i know but i am just saying that sometimes they have films that run in the later series of that year. I know they dont have "seasons" but they can tend to make it feel like it, you know, summer series then break then winter series. i have always viewed it that way i guess.
I just don't understand how a piece of film can go from representing the very best the season has to offer, to something
left on the cutting room floor so often.

i see it in music all the time, work on a song for 20 hours mixing it down 100 times only to find that the 3rd one was the best. sometimes things just look/sound better after you step back from them. in the case of a show im sure that sometimes the way that the filming works out that some films just dont fit so they dont try and force it.
