Aaand here's how it came about. I wanted to make an acoustic absorber panel with a neat picture, and did this "render" to see if I like it:
I did
Then I got a bunch of board wood, made the frame:
Adding padding material inside. It's stonewool basically, used for heat insulation, but just the right density to kill my echo, and also considerably cheaper than the same stuff marketed as acoustic plate.
It's huge! The felt material is just to contain the wool dust inside, it's not that great for lungs I hear...
Took a while to find a position, the bloody thing weighs a ton.
Custom designed stealthy hooks! I wanted the frame to be against the wall without a gap.
The print is here! Holy shit, it's immense! They actually printed it a bit larger than I requested, but oh well... I wanted a soft material, but finally ended up on this rather stiff canvas. Still soft enough to help fight the echo, but quite tough to work with.
A very tedious work of stretching the canvas over the frame.
And finally on the wall!
This took me a while actually, I started the project back in February, but only got the print done now.
My deepest gratitude to mr. Blayde for making me an ?berhigh res version of that picture free of charge
