NA cars are instant power... forced induction cars must build their boost...
Not everything has a huge turbo like an STI. My car is buttery smooth, but we're talking about a supercharged engine, not a turbo. Supercharged engines often have flatter torque curves than NA engines. And NA engines suffer at high altitude as well, often more than a forced induction motor.
