Just purchased a 1997 BMW 528i. Has a five speed manual transmission and about 88,000 immaculate miles on it. It was owned by an 80 year old gentleman who maintained it perfectly.

For Gods sake; DO NOT PUT stupid rims on it - the chassis is not intended for thin rims really, just looks brilliant as it is.

Pirelli P6s - Cobol74 approves (So long as they are the Euro spec ones).

Actually, the chassis would work fine with 18s or 19s, as many of them go that route (with either larger Style 5s or M Parallels). I went with 19s on my E38. But if it's to be a daily driver, what you have on it will work fine, too. Not bad for an E39....
