Just purchased a 1997 BMW 528i. Has a five speed manual transmission and about 88,000 immaculate miles on it. It was owned by an 80 year old gentleman who maintained it perfectly.

Nice E39! Now, put some Style 5s on it and call it a day! :D

Nice!
 for white cars!

Very nice. Is that a cassette deck that the steering wheel rim handily obscures? :)

Yes. Cassette up front and CD out back.

My congratulations!

I check the market for one of those quite a while now, but such a shiny example does not exist anymore in germany..
Great engine choice as well.

I had the pleasure of owning one of these (exact trim and year) for about 2 months (I then flipped it for a nice profit) but I can say that it was an absolute dream to drive. Enjoy!

Nice one Jet.

For Gods sake; DO NOT PUT stupid rims on it - the chassis is not intended for thin rims really, just looks brilliant as it is.

Pirelli P6s - Cobol74 approves (So long as they are the Euro spec ones).

Actually, the chassis would work fine with 18s or 19s, as many of them go that route (with either larger Style 5s or M Parallels). I went with 19s on my E38. But if it's to be a daily driver, what you have on it will work fine, too. Not bad for an E39.... ;)

As far as used dream cars go, an immaculate e39 is up there for me. Congrats!

Congrats!!! Its a great thing to actually know the old man who really did take great care for the car. Good luck!

Nice score man, that car couldn't of looked much better the day it was built.

Been driving it for about a month now and I have experienced an average mpg of about 23 if anyone is curious.

I'm just curious when you're going to lower it and properly abuse it as Smurfen has done to his. :D
