just picked up the tv guide, and Brainiac, hosted by hammond, is gonna be showing on tuesday on channel Ten at 8:30pm

just a heads up :)

It's kinda stupid program though. Mythbuster IMO is better.

But it's kinda funny to watch richard fliches and jumps when something blow up, etc.

really? i love it! its much better than Mythbusters IMO.

Mythbusters >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brainiac

I enjoy Brainiac, it's stupid-fun TV, but IMHO Mythbusters is far far better.

Definitely an extra point to Mythbusters there. Brainiac is more suited to kids. They don't really do much else apart from randomly blow stuff up.

Richard: "Right, we asked the question, can you eat waffles while standing on your head"

<Zany rock music, shot of a waffle-iron blowing up>

Richard: "............No"

Well, Mythbusters also enjoy blowing shit up but until Brainiac absolutely destroys a cement truck, Mythbusters is way way way way way way way way better.

Did I mention Mythbusters is way better than Brainiac?

Mythbusters is teh maddest...Brainiac is very > :| <

Hah yeah, that was pretty great wasn't it :)
I gotta hand it to Brainiac though, blowing up that caravan with the welding torch gasses was insane, only tiny teeny bits left of it!

Interesting thread. I really enjoy Mythbusters and last night I noticed a listing for Brainiac for the first time on Tech TV. If Richard hosts it, I'll be sure to check it out. Sounds like it could be fun, though probably not as insightful as Mythbusters. :)

There's a difference between Mythbusters and Brainiac.

Mythbusters tries to go all out and keep science nerds relatively happy, with some spectacular results that even non-science nerds can enjoy.

Brainiac just love blowing stuff up and giving us fellas a bit of eye candy at the same time. The alleged 'science' just gets in the way. I think that's why Brainiac is subtitled 'Science Abuse'.

The episodes of Brainiac on Channel BT are better than the Channel 10 ones - they've changed the music on the Channel 10 ones (probably rights issues or something). Tina Turner and Her Bunsen Burner is so much better when Tina is miming to 'Simply The Best'. :D You could say the same for Mythbusters - the ones on SBS have that awful Australian narrator that sounds like he's just escaped from an infomercial, whereas the proper Channel BT episodes of Mythbusters have a much more entertaining American narrator.

Either way, I think both Mythbusters and Brainiac rock - but for different reasons.

brainiac is aimed for 10 - 14 year olds apparently...

it doesn't show like

(Incidentaly I have met John Kilcoyne in real life - he's a right crazy fucker, seen him driving around sunderland once or twice too.)
