Some say the covid crisis is perfect cover for a no deal Brexit.

So much for BoJo's oven ready trade deal.

UK declined to extend the transition period and now have to do a deal by about September.

New momentum needed in trade talks, say UK and EU

The EU also noted the UK's decision not to extend the transition period, which ends in December.

Mrs von der Leyen said they "agreed to deliver the best deal" for citizens.

Dispute mechanism is key sticking point in Brexit talks, says Von der Leyen

Ursula von der Leyen has highlighted the UK’s rejection of an all-encompassing punishment mechanism to keep it true to any Brexit deal with the EU as the emerging threat to an agreement, as a leaked document revealed Germany wants to draw up plans for “no deal 2.0”.

All aboard the failtrain, tuut tuut. This isn't gonna go well. Just look at how poorly the UK govt has handled COVID. I have zero hopes for any decent EU-Brexit agreements before NYE.

So.... about the money the Brexiteers claim to save by leaving the EU....

Brexit will have soon cost the UK more than all its payments to the EU over the past 47 years put together
....
Brexit is set to have cost the UK more than £200 billion in lost economic growth by the end of this year — a figure that almost eclipses the total amount the UK has paid toward the European Union budget over the past 47 years.
...

Of course, a projected difference in economic growth in not an exact science, so this may be taken with a grain of salt, but...

The committee now has a short window before the start of the summer recess in which it could publish the Russia report, delayed since before the election when Johnson refused to clear it for publication.
