So I tried it out last night. In retrospect it was too dark to get any really good pictures, so I'll go back again in a couple of days earlier in the evening. I still managed to get a few decent shots though :)

Tripods are kool, can't wait to see more pics.

which tripod did you get? i'm thinking of buying a cheap 20 dollar one from amazon

I got it from a store called Jessops. It's a chain here in the UK and they have a good range of their own brand stuff. It cost me ?40 which litterally converted would be about $75 if you were gonna buy it, but I imagine it would sell for about $45-50 if the shop was American.

Velbon make some decent low end supports though :)

I have a Velbon tripod. It's a few years old, and it didn't cost so much (actually it was a present from my dad, I was shooting a film with my friends and becaused I didn't have a tripod, he bought me one). But it's quite good and stable. I like it a lot.

Now that I checked Velbon web site, I think my tripod is a CX-640 or CX-540.

It looks like this:

Yeah....that's the one I was looking at. Decided on my one in the end though as it was slightly more stable as you can lock out the centre bit and hang a kit bag from the middle :)
