In episode three of this series, at 38:12, you can see the Veyron right by Richards head, bordering on seriously uncool

When did they do that?! I have seen all episodes, but i don't recall them discussing it at the cool wall.

It's not there in 06x01, but it's there in 06x07. There were no other cool-wall episodes in between, so I guess they did it quietly...

They probably did it around the time they showed the Veryon Watch that cost ?100k, but now JC has actually driven it it may (or may not) alter his judgement of how cool it is...

I've always been under the impression that's not really what The Cool Wall is about.

The Cool Wall is more image based than anything, which is why cars like the Porsche 911 and BMW M3 are 'uncool'. Even though they are good to drive, they do have the image of someone that's trying perhaps a tad too hard.

On the other hand, cars like the Mini Cooper S and the Land Rover Defender are sub-zero. They're not brilliant cars to drive, but they have this intangible uber-cool quality to them. You could imagine cool people driving them.

I think you're right tone76. It's definitely all about image. I don't like the cool wall at all, though. JC changes the rules too much

I'm watching the old episodes (going in reverse order), and it's funny to see what they thought of the Bugatti before it was ready. Clarkson says something to the nature of "1000 HP? Never" (I forget exactly what he said).. and then a later episode they talk about how all it needs now is work on the steering and brakes, and they have quite a laugh about it

And now that they've driven it... they're eating their own words
