Bunny Rabbit Racing (working title)

I may have to revise my stance on roller applied paint jobs, I figured such a thing would leave a texture behind.

Well, we were buying housepaint. Two women, around childbearing age, matching a stuffed animal in housepaint? Not odd at all. So the "match this" didn't get many odd looks. But "How much flat housepaint do you think we need to cover a VW fastback?"

Too bad this isn't a few years ago, before the roller-paint technique got a bunch of press and normal enthusiasts started doing it. He'd probably heard it before.

If it's flat paint, it's fine. The poorly-done sprayed on job before ours left more texture. However, if it's glossy, I suspect the little bit of texture that was left would likely be much more apparent.

She, and there was a moment of, "Wait, what?" when I said the car.

Flat lilac is the new flat black, y0.

So, are ya'll going to get some racing suits in the appropriate matching colors?

If anyone has a really big one I could borrow, I could stuff it and go through BS inspection as a Puffalump!

Demanding lilac suits would be a tad expensive, though. (That being said, I do still need to get one and if there's one in purple...hmmmmmm...?)

OMG YAY!

I wonder how much that'll vary for others. Google's results can vary significantly for different people. But I tried the search with a web browser I never use (so doesn't have my browsing history, isn't logged in to Google, etc.) and I still got the bunnycar... :D

Mmmm, rust!

I haven't unpacked my Puffalumps yet, so I just took the whole dang box with me to H2R to check up on the Bunnywagen.

As you can see, I have quite the collection! There were only about four bunnies, a cow, and a giant bear R&D model that I left at home (only because I didn't want to get them dirty).

The question I had was, "How many Puffalumps fit on the back of a VW Type 3?"

Well...a lot!

equiraptor kept stealing the pegasus all weekend. :D The pegasus rules!

The point of the weekend wasn't to gawk at 'lumps, though, it was to build some ears!

Fluffy Bunny (Eater of Souls) ears = serious business. We measured. They're to scale.

We wrapped the big foam ears in duct tape and painted 'em to match the car.

Voila! HOPPY FLOPPY BUNNY EARS!

Dear Hayabusa?-Powered Something that Lost a Part at ChumpCar:

Your wheel arch makes a great temporary bunny ear stand!

I made a carrot to go with the car, too!

On the to-do list for next time: paint the eyeballs! We taped in some foam board to make a good eyeball surface to paint later.

The crazy awesome..........its breathtaking, you girls rock!

(and are batshit insane)

:p

That made my morning, thank you.

Actually....don't paint the eyeballs, but make them into googly eyes with a small black disc and a clear plastic cover. Imagine the hypnotic effect every time the weight shifts or it hits a bump.

Yes, that would be perfect and hopefully befuddle the competition, so the Bunnywagen can go for the WIN! Since we don't have speed, we're going to have to resort to treachery....

Heh, I want to go for authenticity where I can, though. A million little brown eyes staring at people through BS...and an big set of the same up in front.

Mwahahahaha!

Or, you know, flashing boobs mid race. :p

After further consideration, authenticity/consistency would be a good idea and I agree the googly eyes just wouldn't look quite right with the puffalumps. Of course, only a bunch of girls would be worrying about this on a racecar.

Wow! Who knew that my flippant remark after LeMons Texas would snowball into this.

Awesome! Can't wait to hear how you all get on.
