Hi guys!

As the title says its time for a new car, right now my budget is around $50,000Canadian. Power windows and air conditioning dont matter to me, I just want the best performing car out there for my money.

RWD cars only please

Thanks!

I don't like fundamentalists, so I won't help you...

Now, I don't know the cost of cars there, but maybe you can go for an used M5 or 911...

Look on ebay, a used Aston martin DB7 is in your price range, or a Ferrari 355/308, then theres BWM M cars

bihus: The 911's are at the top my list now!

vRs: All the DB7's on ebay are way over $50,000CND man. But looking at the Ferrari's theres quite a few 308's around $50,000. I am just scared about the money it'll take to maintain one.

i think that only the BMW would be in any way reasonable to maintain. my friend has owned 2 diablos, a 328, 512TR, 348 spider, and a 308, and he says that the 355 is the only good one in terms of affoardable reliability. he spent $4500 on a small eletrical problems when his 308 crapped out after 30 mins driving. unless you have the maintenace money and a ferrari mechanic as a friend, and live close to a ferrari dismantler, dont buy an old ferrari.

i would have to say NSX, it's just such a good overall car. a mid-90s NSX will cost about $25k USD, and you can use the rest to tune it up to 500hp quite easily. looks great too, if not totally original.

Not a bad situation to be in.

If it were me, I'd get something Japanese that has already been tuned. That will probably give you the most performance. Some of those dudes dump $30k into a $45k car and sell it for $50k.

Maybe a Supra?...

or RX7?

FUCK YEAH!!!!

Well....... winter + RWD + performance tires = FUN TIMES!!!

Supra would be nice, not to sure about the handling though? Are they pretty reliable too? I dont want to have something poop out on me after a few months of driving

I'm not sure about the Supra's handling. It was in Need For Speed 2 I think though...

As far as I know, Japanese are the most reliable cars period. You would have to be careful to make sure anything tuned was done well though...

Yeah, Toyotas are some of the most reliable cars ever made, possibly the most reliable.

Toyoya pickup truck (refering to Top Gear) you can't get anything better.

You can destroy little villages with it and still use it.

Supra sounds like an awesome car for me, just need more info about the handling! Any more Asian cars that are easily tunable and have a good solid chassis?

Silvia/2xxSX? There should be a few S14s out there pretty cheap, dunno if the S15 was ever made with left side steering. You could spend the remaining cash on tuning parts :p AFAIK, the supra is a very heavy car... even heavier than the GTR?

I have no clue what that kinda money can buy you to be honest, but I like the way the Monaro looks (even though I've never seen one in the flesh).

From a review TG made a lot of time ago, they said the Supra had great handling, prepared for a lot more power...

You'd have to be stupid to buy a Supra honestly.

They're great cars but they're fucking expensive for what they are. They're more than 10 years old too so :?

Yeah, my choice would be a 911 or the NSX... I stated the M5 because many people loves them. Not me, though.

without a Doubt... get the E46 M3, one of the best cars for that price range... and its still practical to a certain level ;)

In his price range he could probably get one with 600bhp. That would be hella fun.

wow! thanks Overheat! All these choices are giving me a headache, haha. Out of the cars you posted what one would you say is the best performing?

Remember I dont care about power windows or anything, I have my Jetta for everyday stuff.
