I'm going to buy a new phone as my SE K700i is falling apart  ... I'm thinking about the Samsung D500, its a really good phone it seems after reading all those reviews... but does anyone have any personal experience with it?

LOL, I'm buying a new ohne and I'm choosing between those 2. Were you happy with the K700? If it's falling apart because of being fragile, I suspect the D500 will be even worse.

the k700's joystick thing doesn't work half the time now... but it has withstood several pretty tough drops... other than that, its an awesome phone... I would recommend it as well

And what about battery? It's surely better than the SX1 I had (someone borrowed without asking :x ), but how much better?

Google for "samsung d500 review" and you'll find a lot like this.

I've already read all of that... I wanted some personal experienced... and bihus, the K700i's battery lifes sucks some shit... can last me 2days, 3 at the max ;)

I don't know how can you use Samsungs. If it has same interface as A200 (or whatever that phone in lower price range is called) it's totally rubbish. Takes you tens of clicks just to get to adress book. But one big shiny button to go "online". That designer should be shot, or better still, use this phone :x

My Girlfriend has one... Its a really good phone, and it won't fall apart. Seems pretty stable to me. Good camera, mp3 player (mind you, its a Java one, which means you can't write SMS while listening... + it has only 92MB storage which you can't upgrade)
Awesome styling, unslidden (correct word???) its soo small... I like the display.
It comes with a headset and an extra speaker (makes it a tiny bit louder...)
And its the first Samsung to have BT... Its even unrestricted, so you can share pics and mp3s with your mates...

I really thought about getting one for myself, but I need more storage for my mp3s... a mmc or sd slot would be nice for it...

What about battery? BAttery, always battery. :)

^^ I don't know about that, but I didn't hear her complain about it... so its 3 days minimum...

Plus: I don't care about charging the phone... Only takes one hour... If I do long drives in my dads car, the BT connection to the hand free from the sat/nav sucks the whole battery empty in one day...

Anyway, if I wouldn't want a folding phone out of some weird reason, I'd buy the 6230i right now... I currently have the 6230 and its perfect. But the 6230i is even way better in the key features...

I'm ok with the 92mb memory, it doesn't bother me that much... I have an iPod which I carry with me most of the time, I usually store 3-4 songs on my phone most of the time... plus I never had a flip phone/slide phone since the motorola v-series... it also looks really cool, I think I might go out and buy it today, plus I have to sell my k700i before the new k750 comes out and my phone will devalue really quickly

I so would want that with an mp3 player... Do you guys also have the black edition?

the motorola razr is a good phone... but not for that price... btw, I bought the Samsung already, only drawback so far is that the stupid phone cannot ring and vibrate at the same time... WTF!!!

Thanks for the info about the battery and the vibrate+sound issue. That is a big NO-NO. I haven't decided yet. I'm also thinking about the Qtek S100, a small smartphone, but if I buy that, then I won't buy a better PDA, and I don't know if I'll be happy with such a limited PDA.
The safe bet seems to be the K700 for me, and a 6230 for my father. No, I won't buy Nokia for me  . I would have to hear a lot from my friends if I did that.
The Siemens S65 is a strong possibility, too.

bihus.... the k700i is a very good phone IMO.... its just my phones joystick was really unresponsive and occasionally it lagged like hell... plus I just wanted a cool phone to play around with :D

i always thot a mobile phone was ony to make calls, recieve calls, send sms, recieve sms...plus battery life...tats all i look for...i was using a nokia 3310 until it got stolen 3 months ago.... i was using tat phone for 3 yrs... dropped it like mad... still worked...as for these latest fone with so much inside it...id say got for one with the best menu systems

^^ Well, he already bought it ;-)

I have to consider a new phone now as well... My 6230 Nokia is still alive and kicking, but the next term is due...

I'm thinking about a Sharp TM200. I really don't care about the cam that much (actually not at all...) but this one has a 2mp one.
Plus its a folding one, which I somehow really want, and it supports SD card up to 1 Gb... That should satisfy my mp3 needs...

Any thoughts about that phone?
