technically, french fries have nothing to do with france. but rather the cutting technique. the potatoes are frenched, then fried.

well, i cant find (in the quick searching i did) any supporting information on the tenses of french. so i could be wrong by adding the -ed. though it doesnt sound wrong in any way.
