Can anyone identify this (Nikon?) lense?

Last Saturday I went to a big party. So there are always some professional photographers who have a stage pass and take pictures etc. So there was a photographers, who had the biggest lens I've seen so far at such a occasion. But since I've no idea about equipment and it looked rather expensive, I want to check it out, out of interest

That's the 400mm Nikkor prime. The name on the lens hood gave it away.

Its a good way to tear your shoulder.... I used one for one race and my arm has never been the same.

Probably why that guy in the photo above...and most people such enormous teles usually have in on a monopod all the time.
