I think this is going to be pretty good.

The Liberals are probably going to win, which will alienate Stephen Harper even more. A weak Conservative party is always a great thing. I just hope the NDP can get votes somewhere other than BC.

I also wish Paul Martin wasn't in charge, but atleast he won't sell us out all the way to the Americans like Stephen Harper wants to do.

I'm voting NDP all the way.
 
I'm going Green but I know stupid Ontario will make it a Liberal sea of red again and we will be back where we started. Minority Liberal government.

I think it'll actually be a majority this time. People don't care, and have never cared about the Gomery report, which is pretty sad.

At the end of the day, a Liberal controlled government is better than a Tory government. Seriously, though, who ever has the slightest leanings towards left-of-centre politics should vote for the NDP. They represent leftists better than any party in Canada. I'd vote Liberal, but they need to get rid of Martin, and that isn't happening anytime soon.

Out of all this, I hope they stop delaying the marijuana bill. That's one of the reason I hope Liberals get a majority.

I hear Harvard scholar Michael Ignatieff is in serious talk of trying to succeed Paul Martin as Prime Minister. People keep pronouncing his name wrong as "Ig-nay-shiff".

Yes there is and in the last election for a split moment they were leading one of the districts. It was shown on the national news channel.
 
Trying to find someone in the MP actually running in your area is not easy. Not to mention it's a wasted vote on the federal level. Some areas have an extremely high number of supporters, but that is effective on the municipal level. Even the people running the MP say that a vote for the NDP is a vote to end prohibition. That, plus the fact that I agree with most of their other views, is why I'm going to vote for them.
 
The Gomery report will probably serve to sway some Quebec voters from the Liberals to the Bloc or NDP. I'd hazard a guess that 15 or more seats will go to the Bloc, which would put the Conservatives in power, but barely. PC currently has 97 seats, Liberals have 112. Not a large margin.

I forsee a slim minority Conservative government, but it'll be a while before we go to the polls.
 
I would be very surprised if the Conservatives win a minority. I think your numbers are a bit off. The Liberals had 133 seats (21 of which were in Quebec). If they lose all their seats in Quebec to the BQ then that would result in your 97 vs. 112 numbers (and while I think they will lose many seats I don't think they will lose all of them).

The Conservatives already have most of the seats in the western provinces so I don't really see any gains they can make there. Outside of these provinces, Harper is seen as too right wing on social issues (just look at what happened last election when polls had the Conservatives in the lead). The only way I see the Conservatives winning a minority is if they swing to the left on social issues (and given Harper trying to re-open the same-sex marriage debate today that's not likely) or if the NDP make serious gains at the expense of the Liberals.

Basically it comes down to this: How many people have changed their mind since the last election? Outside of Quebec, I don't think many have.

We need that in the States. I've been dreaming of something like a Prime Ministers question time with Bush. Of course Congress would softball him, because nobody in there has a spine.
