I'm bored and this came up the other day in a casual conversation with @rickhamilton620

Let's pit two cars together and you decide which one is the option you would go for, then you pit two cars against each other and the next person has to follow suit.

I'll begin:

Mach-E. Because I don't want to learn a programming language to turn my heat up 2 degrees.

Inspired by the parking lot at the post office this morning, which also included a Pontiac Montana, a Pontiac G3 (not sold in the US), and a Chevy Avalanche. What a weird cluster of vehicles.

Pontiac Vibe. There's something about these oddballs made by Pontiac, based on other manufacturers' platforms, that appeals to me.

Now, picture this. You were going on vacation to the destination of your will, but for some reason, you ended up boarding the wrong plane, and ended up in Japan. You realize the mistake way too late, stranded in Japan as thanks to a new variant of Covid, all flights to your place have been cancelled. You somehow manage to book a hotel, but it's in a completely desolate village, as thanks to the Covid situation, all other places have been taken.

You're now forced to live in Japan for a couple of weeks. You live on a diet of tofu and fish, as you spent all your money on the said hotel, but in order to get to your hotel, you need transportation. All the public transportation is either cancelled or too expensive, and your only option is to buy a car.

Your hopes to find a decent, running Japanese car are all gone because you're left with very little money, and very few used car dealerships even speak English. However, after walking for many miles, you find this little place in outskirts of Tokyo, ran by an American gentleman who goes by the name of Rick Hamilton. All he has left, and that's in your budget, is these two GM attempts of selling cars in Japan. Which do you pick? :p

Having previously owned a Saturn and Gena having a Cavalier when I met her... Can I buy a used bicycle instead? :ROFLMAO:

I guess if you held a gun against my head, I'd go for the Cavalier. Might get plenty of social media exposure driving it.

I'm often intrigued in what can be found north of the US in Canada. Pontiac got some interesting offerings that we didn't get. Above are two badge engineered Ponchos. The Sunburst was an Isuzu and the Firefly a Suzuki. Pick your poison.

Speaking of preferring a Bicycle... :p

I would take the Sunburst. It is slightly more powerful, slightly more practical, and the T-Car is slightly better supported than the Suzuki on the account of the sheer number of the sodding things produced.

Scrambler, just because it looks more fun, with its Wrangler-like front-end and removable doors.

This is a no-brainer for me. I might've only watched Smokey and the Bandit so far, but I happen to like Mustangs much more than Trans Ams. So the Bullit Mustang it is. Although I won't deny the Trans Am its cool factor, I prefer the Mustang.

Ugh this is a tough one... But despite my recently discovered fondness for Volvos, especially those with 5 cylinders and in wagon form, I'd just have to try the Focus RS, so that one it is for me, I just love hot hatches.

As cool as the Esprit is, I'd have to go for the Corvette. Easy swap to LS, or hot rod the small block, suspension is, eh... okay for the day. Easier to get parts for too.

This is so hard. The GTX is a plucky little car, but I would have to go with Lancia just for the pedigree and history and the uniqueness of the badge.

The Audi. Both are beyond my own driving capabilities/skills anyway, and IMO, Porsche's 4-doors just aren't as attractive as the slightly-more traditional "sedan" styling.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. The Volvo 850. Kinda wanted one ever since a child, as my grandma's neighbor had a dark green wagon.
