Thankfully, I am not authorized to view that page, saving me lots of pain and anguish...

You think that's bad? Check out "Sleeping Beauties." A bunch of extremely rare classics (such as a Bugatti Type 57) that were left to rot in a barn on some fabulously wealthy aristocrat's property.

EDIT: Here's a photo:

^OUCH! That hurts!

It does indeed...but the "Sleeping Beauties" collection is actually quite popular, and there's a certain something about the photos. My German amigo Kai has a book with the photos, and it's truly awe-inspiring.

i actually think it doesn't.
they're little dusted and need a polish, but those cars are still in pretty good shape.
if they were used, they would have vanished 30 years ago.

so i say "GO" to all those who want to dedicate money to placing cars in barns

Oh, no...they're horribly rusted and completely undriveable.

I bet you could still put them back on the road for half of would cost to buy a pristine version of same.

You'd never get the money back, because everyone would know it came from a barn. But at least you'd have a cheap usable Bugatti that you could show off.

Its not uncommon, my dad used to subscribe to this british classic magazine. Almost every month there'd be a barn find.

Typical sceneario:

Rich husband buys expensive car, dies. Widow never touches the cars again (nor actually knows what they are exactly) and leaves them in the garage.

Expensive classics.

Only ones i really remember is a old D-type in an english barn, and a 1955-ish sl300 in cuba.
