I remember freaking out over Microsoft Flight Simulator 95 because it was over 200MB. Heck, one of my first computers was an Amiga 500 which had no hard drive at all.

I remember my father paying more than 200 dollars extra to get a 120mb hdd instead of a 80mb hdd when he bought a new computer (years ago obviously)...

Now I got a mobile phone with 1gb memory! 8)

PS: 280Gb diskspace here, free about 1gb...

The first computer I worked on (an Apple II) had a whopping 48kb of memory and no hard drive  .

Yeah, my phone is like 4megs. :|

Well, the phone itself only has 24megs, but...

mine uses MMC, so it's whatever size available really. Only 256mb at the mo tho.

...since the SX1 uses MMC too and I got a 1GB (1024Mb) MultimediaCard!
I'm able to store tons of programs, mp3's, movies, pictures, or whatever on it. :)

Yeah, I already thought about putting some top gear episodes on it, use it on the train, bus or something. 8)

But since I only have the phone for 4 days now I have yet to learn how to convert videos properly, i.e. how to get the best quality and the smallest size.
(I already downloaded some movies, for example American Pie 3, which are about 70 megs.)

Overall the SX1 is a nice phone with lots of features and an "unconventional" key-layout. Needed a Triband-phone for my stay in the US so I bought it. :)

check out www.coolsmartphone.com - it's the site I used to use when I first got my smartphone - you''ll love it and it'll help u with stuff like that.

Thanks, bookmarked!

Anyways, it's not my first Smartphone. I bought a Nokia 7650 about 2 years ago which has the same Symbian Series60 OS as the SX1. The 7650 though has one BIG disadvantage, no MMC-slot! (Of course it was the first S60/Smartphone to come out so it's no surpirse that it lacks some features...)

Btw, I always use Overnet to "acquire" (got that one from Viper actually  ) new software and stuff for my mobile.

PS: @Overheat:
What's your phone? Thinking about buying a bigger MMC now that you know it exists?

At the moment I have a Nokia N-Gage that I'm really bored of. Did have an SPV and am really missing the Outlook integration and camera attachment.

Hoping to get an SX1 soon.

the only reason i didnt get the n-gage was cuz i figured at some point i would just get tired of it and never play

i want to get this:

anyone know anything about it

and btw.. you guys jacked my thread! lol

I'm also interested in this one:
samsungsph2300.jpg

to replace both my camera and my phone - but it's sooo ugly! :( Just can't decide!

Yikes, that's one ugly bitch in the background! :?
It's an asia-only phone though AFAIK, they really have some impressive mobiles over there but you can't get them in Europe or America. (3.2 Megapixels!)

Hehe!
Just split it, you're a mod!

That 6620 (which we don't have in Europe) looks ok, it has a MMC slot which is very good because you can store many mp3's etc. It seems that it doesn't have the Series60 Symbian OS (looked it up at nokiausa.com), which is perhaps but not necessarily a disadvantage. With the Symbian OS you can personalize and customize your phone by using certain programs - similar to windows. If you just want a phone combined with a mp3-player you don't need Symbian.

Pshhh, I can't stand any of these all-in-one products. I want my cell phone to be a cell phone, my digital camera to be a digital camera, and my Gameboy Advance to be a Gameboy Advance.

Products such as the nGage are just living proof of how horrible all-in-one technologies can be. Playing games on that thing is absolutely brutal. And camera-phones... I haven't seen a single photo wtih one of those that doesn't look like a budget web-cam.

Even the upcoming Sony PSP looks like it's going to be a cluttered, over-priced and under-achieving collection of unrelated technologies. I'll stick with my Gameboy Advance thank you very much.

My sentiments exactly. 8) 8) 8)

Well, I love the all-in-one things. Simply because, when I'm on the move, which is quite often being a student, I like to have everything with me. Ever been out and about and REALLY wished that u had ur camera with u, or uir phone with u, or been sooo bored and would have done anything just to have some music or a gameboy to occupy ur time. Well, I have far too often!

www.gizmondo.com - anyone seen this yet - awesome all-in=one contraption, esp for caring parents.
