What operating system jasonchui???

if he wants ntfs it has to either be 2k, NT, or xp. I dont know if there is a way to do it without repartitioning the drive. Good luck.

Unless you have XP pro there is no need for ntfs. The main advantage of ntfs is, that you can set policies for files(especially for sharing, like linux file system). XP home can't set these policies for sharing, so there's no need for ntfs. But if you ever get a new HD, I suggest to set it as ntfs. Some people say it's more stable, but I haven't noticed a big difference. And if I'm not wrong, ntfs can handle larger disks.
But keep in mind, you can go from fat32 to ntfs, but not vica versa. So if you run linux, win98, winME...you're better of with fat, bc thos os's can't read ntfs.

i'm using XP. i might just call the guy to send me that thing that change FAT to NTFS, unless u guys have it as well

I think you mean partition magic... I think that changes it, but I won't really trust that software as you are messing with HD partitions and formatting, you might loose all your data.... I think you are using XP Home, in that case, you won't need NTFS, FAT32 would do just fine ;)

yeah exactly TechZ. the guys gonna send me it on monday, whoever needs it as well pm me, i'll email u it

erm send what?.. the software to change to NTFS?... don't you have to reformat to change the to NTFS?
