Does anyone know how many of these they've made? I've seen like 10 in person already, I thought they were supposed to be rare.

Just on the road I've seen around 5... they had the SL at the North Vancouver dealership and the CL at the Broadway one, they were both sold.

How about SLR McLaren. I've never seen them in Vancouver, but I heard there are some, have you seen any?

I'v seen plenty here in Sydney (SL) and theres one down the road from me which is partly why I love em' so much.

In terms of numbers, Mercedes won't "limit" the amount produced because there isnt huge demand for them. I'd imagine that they'd produce something like 5000 units + per year....they do over 3500 SLR/year so that should be a rough guideline.

I've seen one... I saw it at the North Van dealership before the summer and (I think) the same car on the road in West Van.

I live in West Van, but surprisingly most of the nice cars I see are downtown.

they make around a 1000 of each a year i believe for a few years.

They make 3,500 SLRs a year? You've got to be kidding me... so they're making more than Aston's making of the V8 Vantage?

no silly, thats 3500 total.

^ he's lying to you
they make 500 a year, for the course of 7 years. hence 3500.
The production of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren at the McLaren Technology Center in Woking, England, combines the best of two worlds: the advantages of the Mercedes-Benz Production System and the expertise of McLaren when it comes to building super sports cars. On May 12, 2004, the McLaren Technology Center was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. The McLaren Technology Centre is the new corporate headquearters for the McLaren Group, in which DaimlerChrysler holds a 40-percent share. Around 140 highly qualified employees manufacture up to 500 units of the Gran Turismo in Woking each year. The SLR is available in limited numbers, in keeping with its exclusive character. During the vehicle?s seven-year lifespan, a total of 3,500 units will leave the Woking plant, which is equipped with the very latest in production technology. Overall, the McLaren Technology Centre measures approximately 22,500 square meters, of which 4000 square meters are accounted for by Mercedes-Benz SLR production.

I'm not lying fool, I meant to write 3500 total but I mis-read my source.

Are you fucking kidding me? I live just near the North Van Mercedes dealer, but never saw a SLR there(I went once about march and they had a SL65, CL65 and a CLS)
Where was it? in the showroom or garage?

BTW There are alot of nice cars in West Van, I work in Caulfield and always pass by West Van, saw a seal grey Carrera GT on marine drive Park Royal, 2 weeks ago sunday morning. Porsche's and a red SRT-10 Viper are kinda typical sights.

Hey, I used to go to Rockridge back in my highschool days. :D

The car was there in about March I believe, in the showroom. I know the guys, so they opened the door and popped the hood for me, but wouldn't let me sit inside.

I've seen the Carrera GT as well, remember seeing it pulled over once. :D There's also pictures of a CGT I've seen crashed in Vancouver.

they dont have the cl65 here in the states.. what a bummer..

i thought i saw one... but it was some idiot who put cl65 amg on his cl55 amg..
and put all the biturbo badges and what not.. i was going crazy til the dealer said it was a dud..

i see a bunch of sl65 amg's though.. here in la jolla.. i saw one of our younger graduates driving one the other day.. he could only have been 24... i like how he has to make a real effort to get it to roll slowly with traffic..

the only SLR's ive seen are were in vegas..

The C65? That would be the best power to weight ratio ever... :D

^^That's the same Carrera GT that got impounded earlier in the month. He then spun it on dry, level pavement and smashed it into the meridian. I heard he wrecked the carbon-fibre tub, which cost a heck of a lot to have replaced.

Dude, that's awesome, never knew they had SLR in North Van dealer, thanks for pics.

And actually, there are more than 5 Carrera GT's in Vancouver, and I've seen those pics in WreckedExotics before, both of them are probably fixed because those pics are old.

And you go to UBC, cool  . I study in Capilano College right now.
