Clarkson gets a pie...

Poor Clarkson. Some people just need to find a better way of getting their message through. Pies in the face show how immature you are, but that's my personal opinion.

hmmm must have been hilarious. I do know that lot of people cant stand him. I think even I am against him getting an honorary degree..

Mind you, I am a big fan of Clarkson, but.......

Oh my...

I really don't think people should do this. I agree with mischief and I also think that the physical integrity of a person should not be harmed (unless of course in extreme cases), certainly not in a matter like this. It's just a matter of principles.

He's not the first one. When Bill Gates visited Belgium a couple of years ago, he also got hit by a pie or two

Despite that, i like him, hopefully there are some petrolhead's in the world that can say in TV how rubbish envoironmentlist's are

The pie in the face was a bit extreme. I do think Clarkson deserves the honorary degree, because high standards in engineering are always welcome and appreciated. And people who encourage that in whatever way can only help.

Besides, Clarkson might disregard the environment, but what has he ever done to seriously screw it up?

EDIT:  look at his picture in his newspaper section here

The startled presenter maintained his cool, quipped ?good shot? and posed for a few more pictures before beating his retreat.
This is why Clarkson is so awesome. While I don't agree with his stance on environmentalism, I don't think throwing a pie in anybody's face about it is going to accomplish anything other than a laugh. Environmentalism is embarrassed by environmentalists.

I look forward to his inevitable red herring writeup of this in his next car review.

I applaud Jeremy for maintaining his dignity, especially since Average Joe (and indeed our own deputy prime minister) would have retaliated with a swift left hook. If it had been me, I'd have done a jolly good impression of the Warner Bros cartoon character Taz-Mania.

I can only assume that he'd been forewarned of a potential protest.

LMAO

i cant wait till next season starts..i hope James and Richard talk about this

Thats the standard picture they have whenever he tests a 4x4..

Anyway, those Enviromentalists are mostly plain stupid. The whole movement is going to a stop somewhere in the future, because their Ideas can't be financed, nobody gives a crap and it becomes more and more evident that most of their claims, especially for cars are all bullshit.

Bravo, Jezza, for taking it like a proper man!!!

 and  to :jc:

"Mr Clarkson has been criticised for engaging in stunts such as driving a 4x4 through an environmentally-sensitive peat bog..."

Wow. Good to know stupidity is not only an American resource.

As a celibrity, Clarkson rules. :D

No, but we've honed it into an art form.

?I do have a disregard for the environment. I think the world can look after itself and we should enjoy it as best we can.? - So true in 5-10 years we have the know-how to dublicate plants ect. so everyone can drive thru bogs all they want.

If it was up to the environmentalists we'd go back to a time where we'd dig down those bogs till there's no peat left because we wouldn't have anything else to burn...
Thanks to technological progress we still HAVE peat

Clarkson was excellent with that pie thing.. I bet he's actually proud about it, sure makes for a more interesting story than your average boring ceremony.
