I'm currently looking for a avi to dvd converter to convert DVD's so I can watch on a TV. I've used DVDsanta so far but I keep running into problems, do any of the Aussies know what format does the TV run in here?.. I ripped it in PAL format and I have a greenbar under the video :(

Try NeroVision

that's what i'm using

Nerovision's nice and easy to use and does everything, however my personal combination is Mainconcept MPEG Encoder for the DVD conversion, and TMPGEnc DVD Author for authoring the DVD (much better menu capabilities compared to Nero)

btw... how do I add a menu screen into the DVD, I managed to burn it to DVD with dvdsanta, but I thought it would be a better idea to add a menu where you can select the episode you want to watch

Nero makes decent menus with much hassle

Ok - launch Nero SmartStart (these instructions are for the latest version)
Click on the "Photo and Video" icon, then select "Make Your Own DVD Video"
Now drag and drop the video clips you would like have on the DVD
When you are done adding vids, click next

Now you should be at the section for adding menus
Use the options on the right for changing the appearance (font, background image, buttons, etc.)
Click next when your're done editing the menu

Now you will come to the Preview section where you can actually test out your menu to see how exactly it will function
Click next when you're ready

Next you can change the other setttings, such as quality, burn speed, etc.
Click Burn to start burning the DVD

That's it!! :D
