Maybe it's much better in the UK but from where I'm sitting the optimistic outlook sounds like garbage.
Why because I see people saying "I'm tired of wearing a mask I want it to get back to normal" while our public health officials say:
So if people are fatigued by good public health measures and just pretend like it's going to get better it's going to get worse. I'd rather be a pessimistic realist than believe the best case scenario will just magically happen.
We should hear it from elected officials but we don't: This is deadly stuff, the middle prediction is 400,000 dead, the worse case million plus, we may have to go back into lockdown, for us not to do that maintain discipline, wash your hands, keep 6ft apart, wear a mask and face shield, avoid gathering in groups. The vaccine is not the end to this and your lives will never be exactly as it was before.

"I think it’s going to be a combination of a vaccine that has been around for almost a year and good public-health measures," Fauci said. "I would think by the time we get to the end of 2021 — maybe even the middle of 2022."
