The El Camino was a childhood dream to get. Then I saw what they cost and now I realize they’re nice to look at. :)
 
I still want an ElCamino. I will want one for a long time the way prices are.
 
An El Camino is on the long list of cars I should have bought when I was younger.
 
I'd rather have a '70-'71 Ranchero than an El Camino. A design so beautiful Ford had to compensate by making the next 8 years absolutely grotesque.

You are preaching to the choir. There was a point in time where a 72 ElCamino was about $1500 in decent shape that I should of snagged a couple. The problem was time and space.

They did introduce a concept, but if course it was poorly timed. Pontiac shuttered in late 2010.

They fucking should have. that company in Colorado doing the G8 conversions did something right.

GM offered to bring it back if they could secure enough deposits. Lutz was especially adamant about it, parading the G8 pickup concept and swearing high and low they would bring it if people would put their money where their mouth is.

People did not put their money with their mouths are. Much in the same way every petition to overturn the mercedes law in the US has failed, and how every enthusiast car that people up and down pistonheads swear they will buy if the manufacturer could just make it bombs.
 
To be fair, most enthusiasts buy less than $10,000 cars. That's a lost cause in my opinion. :(
