hoooooooooooly...
that is some serious damage :|
those guys are really lucky to have walked away from that. its a miracle they survived this with. daaaamn... nasty crash

How the hell can you survive that?! Dive outa the car before it hits anything?

I'm guessing the major damage is from rolling into a tree?? either way, lucky lucky boys

how the flyin fuck they survive....... very lucky men....

was the tassie round of the OZ rally championships.

the driver is tony sullens, he won targa tassie in 2004.

they came round a left hander (right hand drive car) in 5th (about 160km/hr) and the back let go, into a ditch, hit a tree, which turned it around. and then dug in. and tumbled up into the air/

the car hit the tree side on, about 2m up the trunk, at over 100km/hr.

the driver was knocked out for a short time, but didnt suffer any real injuries (some bruses).

i guess it shows what a good (carbon fiber) seat, high quality 4" 6 point harness and decent crash helmet can do.

the car also looks a bit worse, as i believe tony was Cut out, and the result isnt as pretty.

the co driver was Ben atkinson, brother to chris atkinson, the WRC works subaru driver from australia.

happier times...

I'm still amazed by their escape

(any chance that's you in the yellow vest asphotos?)

Lucky, lucky guys. When I was 5 or 6, I was in an accident and the roof over my father's head was like that, touching the wheel. The seatbelt wasn't mandatory, and gladly he wasn't wearing it.

For Aussies, you can see this crash between 1-2PM (EST) on Ten. I know i'll be watching :tvhorror:

its australian rally.

their names wern't crocker or ordynski, the crash was never going to get any coverage!!!

its a shame australian rally fails to recognise their are more than 4-5 people running in events.
