how do you get the current playing song in your sig?
does it work with WMP?
does it also show videoclips? (hope not :p )

no, i don't want people to know i watch topgear :bangin:

and as expected, doesn't work with WMP, only fucking winamp

at least you can organise your tracks

try to master your collection in winamp if it's larger than 2000 songs
it's impossible

and know i've used real player for several years, so i think i'm making progress

The media library and freeform skins were introduced with Winamp 3 which was a system whore and sucked ass.

Winamp 5 was then released (2+3=5) which is based on WA 2.x (unlike 3 which was completely seperate), but has bundled plugins for the media library and freeform skins. Both plugins are optional if you don't want them.

I really suggest you try Winamp 5. It really whips the llamas ass. :p

tnx!

and clearly the plug in is still beta, caus media player keeps crashing

You running the latest version of WMP?

i guess

10.00.00.3646

windows update would have said so if there was a newer version

Yeah, that's the latest. Odd that it's crashing.

found the problem

first close WMP when installing a plug-in

ROFL, yeah.

If you are concerned about organizing songs with WinAmp, I have well over 1000 full albums on my computer (14,606 individual songs).

I do it this way:
Organization.jpg

Each album is made into an individual playlist and saved as a M3U file in my 'Albums' directory. If I want to listen to an album, I just find the M3U file and double click on it. With the amount of music that I have, that is the only possible way to organize things.

I still use WinAmp 2.8. I've tried every version of WinAmp and almost all of the other media players out there but for the most part they are too bloated and slow to deal efficiently with my music collection.

Oh, and Gerpok is incredibly cool. I spend quite a bit of time just surfing around other user's profiles looking at their lists. It's pretty cool to be able to check out the musical tastes of people who listen to the same bands as you. :music:

Yeah, and it still is a good one!!

I always had foobar on... But then I discovered, that Winamp 5 has global hotkey support -> back on my system!!! Somehow I like it more than foobar. but until 5.x foobar was more functional...

The firefox users should check out the Firefox "foxy tunes" extension... REALLY! Its awesome!

windows media player searches for all songs on the internet for the appropriate data, places them in folders by artist and by album, and changes the filename to nr-title-artist-album (or as u wish)

and in WMP u can select on all those things together with genre, collaborating artist, rating, ...

i think WMP rocks
