A friend of mine needs to make up his mind, I think this is a good place to come for advice. He currently has a 300hp 2g Eclipse, its beginning to fall apart, he came close to getting a C43 AMG, but the insurance was too high. So he's left with the following choices

a fairly good car until insurance comes down for him.

G35, fast, super cool, and practical.

Need more details as what type of lifestyle he leads....

No G35 Coupe?

Edit: Starts at 30 grand. I've run out of anything remotely intelligent to say.

Edit 2: Actually, I bet he could find a decent used one for that price. G35 coupes are pretty popular, for a simple reason: they rock. If your friend can find a nice one for that price, tell him to go for it.

you could get a near brand new TSX for that money, and that is well equipped for the price and an overall good car. a G35 would have to have atleast 20K to 30K miles on it to be around the $25K price range.

Wow, you're thinking of a lot of cars I am too. I was gonna vote R32, but i already have a hatch and cant stand how dirty the back gets the minute after you watch it. I picked the Rx-8 jsut becuase it's such a cool car with so many party pieces.

You can even get an A4 3.0 for that price now. But make sure to get the navi equipped 3.0 so it has the color high res MFD in the center cluster, unless you want to pay over $600 to replace with gauge cluster on the 1.8t. The stock navi can be upgraded to the new RNS-E DVD with SD slots for 8GB of mp3. Headlights can be replaced with the euro xenon units.

Insurance is a big factor, he is 19 and his parents dont want to take a car in their name. Otherwise he would have had a M coupe by now.

for me, easily an RX-8 by a mile and then another 10,000 miles after that...

hmmm....none of the above. I'd try to find a Subaru :)

From that list, either the TSX or G35...I'm leaning more towards the G35

^They are in some respects similar polls but they serve 2-completly different purposes so it doesn't warrent a lock.

if he only wants the car until insurance go down, why does he want a new car?

i'd go for an E36 something

and save loads of money

Acura TSX is only in North America.

I think Honda Accord should be more accurate.
But the American Accord is not sold anywhere else is it?

My choice is the G35C... which isn't sold in Europe also.

haha.

If he isn't going to pay for it with his own money, then he should just get a Honda Civic. Sports cars and enthusiast models should only be earned with your blood and sweat. If you're using another person's money to buy a car, you shouldn't go extravagant.

But that's just me . . .
