I’m not sure if we’ve had one of these threads before, but surely everyone is familiar with the concept of Desert Island Discs? The idea, at least in the British radio programme, is that you pick eight songs that you would be happy listening to on a desert island. For thread-making purposes and to avoid having to think in album entireties, let’s pretend it’s an eight-song mixtape or a USB stick, and it doesn’t have to be an island but it can also be an escape pod floating along in space. In any case, you’re stuck somewhere and all you got is this collection of songs, and a book and perhaps a movie. The idea is also that the songs are supposed to be somehow poignant to you especially, and in the radio program the guests explain the meaning behind their choices. But you don’t necessarily need to do that, just pick the stuff that’s really stuck with you.

What would you most enjoy listening to?

I'll post my choices (and perhaps a book and a movie, too) later, but I wanted to get the ball rolling already.

Hmmm...that's a real head-scratcher.
8 songs, a book and a movie.
I'll think about it and come back here later.
