Devastating!

I've read about it in another Forum. The Driver survived the Crash and is suing the Organisators. The Car is a Ferrari 355 btw.

So /both/ driver's survived? The Porsche and the Ferrari driver? Why the hell did it explode in the first place anyway? Aren't the engines in the middle and the fuel tanks in the rear?

Which driver survived? There are at least 2 involved. Didn't look too good for both of them :|

EDIT: If I remember correctly, fuel tanks are in front in 911.

Holy...!!!
Well the Porsche got it's engine in the back, and I guess the fuel tank in the front, and that is where the Ferrari crashed into. It looks like a JGTC Race to me (think I've identified the yellow pennzoil skyline), so I think rescue capabilites shouldn't be too bad.

Damn. No mention of the Porsche driver at all but I guess that guy is ok. But sucks for him. Can't move his right arm or fingers properly.

Phew...he is one lucky guy to walk away with those injuries. According to the article he spent 90 seconds (!) in that burning car.

In a passenger car without the protective clothing that racedrivers wear...there is no way anyone could survive :(

355 racing fuel cells are located in the middle of the car, like the lamborghini diablo, so that a front or rear impact will not rupture them. if it hits something on the side, it's either the side of a car or a wall, which wouldnt puncture the gas tanks...or so they thought. in this very unlucky accident, the porsche chassis's corner hit the gas tank head on and tore it apart with enough force to spray fuel everywhere. :?
