Clarkson: Did he really make the Jump at 14x04 ?

We all seen how Jeremy stepped up and decided to go for a (MASSIVE!) jump,when he realised that he didn't catch the ship, what i can't help but think about, did he really do the jump ? or was it a drunk stunt man with a death-wish, what do you guys think ?
