having only recently been exposed to BTCC, WRC, F1, and JGTC i want to know what you guys watch, the basic rules, and kinds of cars are in the races

and if possible a clip or vid of the races :D

also: what does le mans mean? and where can i find a vid of summaries of races?

Le Mans is a french city, where they close some roads to make a ~13km track. They make a 24 hours race.

The best way for you to take knowledge on the different races is to look on those series sites.

I watch the trans-am races the specs and rules are probably on the site http://trans-amseries.com/ New this year to the series is the GTA cars. although the GTA cars race with the Trans Am cars, they have their own seperate GTA class winners (kinda like the american Le Mans series) The GTA cars are a few laps per second slower than the

Trans Am cars mainly are corvettes, mustangs, and a few jaguars

GTA cars have the same style body shell as a nascar (ford tuarus, etc...) but they have fiberglass bodies and are setup more for road courses.

these races are shown on speed channel about a week or two after the actual live race

I like to watch this:

http://rallycross.free.fr/photosb.htm

I've only seen this races one time in my life
but it was so crazy...
these are WRC cars ( talking about the blue & red 206....600 hp...)
always some good crash with roll overs...

I like the BTCC too (like the other touring car races) and the WRC (and even rally cars events around my town) and of course all LM racing serie.

and didn't know either of the DTC

not very interested by F1 championship since A.Prost stopped ( he :p )
even with new rules..

//edit: forgot to say that I love V8supercar races //

I keep opening my mind to new motorsports too - the new Sky channel over here, Motors TV is brilliant for this as it's back to back races all day long!

Last night I attempted to watch ALMS (American Le Mans Series) but the commentary and terrible coverage put me off totally - damn you Americans. Besides that the cars looked pretty good. Before that it was some NASCAR at Daytona, which was actually quite enjoyable, especially the big crash near the end :D

I've been to all different types of racing but nothing compares to seeing 8000 hp top fuelers in person. Who ever thought 4 seconds could be exciting.

Just ripped the British Formula 3 race from Castle Combes and the British GT Championship race from the same place. Excellent sports, VERY entertaining. Those looking for new races to watch check em out. I highly recommend F3 - beats F1 hands down for action.

Damn I wish we could get the JGTC here in Aus. I'd love to keep up with that championship.

SL65 is right, though, the best racing class, the most entertaining is the Australian V8 Supercars. Sure the Formula isn't the best, but it does produce the best racing. Big power, not a heap of aerodynamics (the killer of good racing) and small rubber with regard to amount of power. Only the best. And Bathurst is only a few weeks away now...

I see you like rallycross too. Do you know some good sites with preferably nice rallycross videos? I'm mostly interested in the European Rallycross Championship, but videos of national championship (division 1) are also welcome :)
The best I found until now was on ebay. I bought there a dvd from the 2005 season.

I have video of that... those cars are just NUTS!!!

You literally cannot breathe when they pass by you and they register on the richter scale when they launch!!

Motorcycle trials are mighty damn fun to watch as well!

It's obvious what the best motorsport is....

Hmm. I have a strong desire to watch some JGTC(SuperGT) - but I haven't a clue as how to watch the races. I can't even find torrents of them. :( Has the 07 season already started?
