Not exactly. You still can't put a NASCAR stock car on Pikes Peak or do silly stuff like that (and I doubt we ever will), but some basic reskins like the one above aren't impossible.
I haven't played this for a while and decided to try out the rallycross events tonight. My goodness they're hectic! Using a sequential shifter that isn't very close to the wheel meant that for 98% of the time I was driving with my right hand only, while my left hand did the constant shifts that a 6-speed car with very close ratios needs on a tight course.
It's tricky to get used to but I got through an entire event on 'normal' difficulty and came out as the winner, even if I did pass the finish line upside-down once. I recorded most of it through Shadowplay so will get some clips together when I have a chance.
It also proved that the input lag on my TV isn't too bad, if I can get through rallycross successfully then I shouldn't worry about it.
So I tried out both of the new rally cars. God I love Alpine A110, it is a rocketship between the 60s class and is much more fun to drive than boring Mini or Fulvia. The Renault 5 seems easier to drive than E30 or Sierra, maybe it is my ticket to winning an 80s championship.
Rallycross is my least favourite part of the game, so I tried out only the Mini, and in RX it is much more interesting to drive than on rally.
The new peugeot can't be driven on gravel Pikes Peak I knew it when it said it in the DiRT Show some time ago, but still held out hope. Dumb licensing!
I bit the bullet and got this game after watching videos online from others....happy with it indeed. Don't play it as often as I should, but certainly have fun when I do load it up
