Do we need to follow sig image size rules?

So I read the sig image post and didn't see a clear answer to this:

Some people are creating extra long sig files which really make my horizontially challenged screen experience suck. I'd rather not block the images, most are damn cool, but should I be saying something?

Just wanted to know how the pro's feel before I spout off.

Its breaking your H-scroll?

Thats odd. If its complying with the rules of 175pixels horizontally, then it shouldn't be breaking the H-scroll unless your resolution is really really crap. Is it?

^Yeh well thats just ridiculous. His sig should be resized.

But my point is, if we are compliant with the rules, it shouldn't be breaking your H-scroll.

And to answer your question, yes, we have to follow image size rules. Some people just choose not to or are oblivious to them <_<

If anyones sig breaks the rules, just PM them and point it out. You shouldn't have to put up with people breaking your H-scroll. Its an offence!

BTW: My sig isn't on your "annoying" list is it? Its spreading X-mas cheer :D :p

I wasn't going to say anything, but oh my eyes! :p

Thanks for the help, I'll PM him. :)

Well, I sent a PM and got no responce. Now I see he's posted since then. :(

Any suggestions on what I should do next?

I'm thinking about PM'ing viper? :|

Go to your "Outbox" and see if the message you sent is still there. If it is, it means he hasn't yet opened it. If its not, it means he's opened it and is obviously not bothering to respond.

Ah.

Its still there. I guess I'll just cool my jets and see what happens for a while.

Thanks for the tip. :)

yeah Zenkidori's sig should be smaller. I'm running on 1280*1024 so for me it's not so big a deal, but when I'm at home on my other computer, its really annoying.

Sigs like ianspeeds or SL65AMG~V12~604BHP!!!!!!! (how do you remember that name when you sign in????) are fine for me. Just the right size.

Raheel Qamar also has a huge sig :) from need for speed most wanted. Those very high sigs should get smaller.

I don't/can't

I just saved the username/password with my browser :)

And Raheel's is almost 1-meg but its NFS so I like it :p

Rock on, this forum is so cool!

He saw it and has already shrunk it down! Thanks for the help guys... my little screen is a happy camper now. 8)

And if people don't reply or refuse to do so, PM me and I'll do it for them. ;)

Extremely sorry for my sigs huge size.... lemme lower the quality and see if the file size reduces.

Is there any way to disable the signatures? I don't want to use stuff like adblock-things, and I supposed there would be an option in my profile to disable them, but I can't find any?

I'm used to surf on boards with only avatars, which is in my opinion much, much clearer and neater.
And at home I'm surfing on my standard-size laptop screen, which forces me to scroll for every two posts because under every one-line post, there is half a screen of banner :)

you can install Firefox. Then right click on a sig and say: block images from...

only problem is: when the image is hosted by for example imageshack, you won't be seeing all imageshack images. But for example Bahnstormers image is from another server (http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/) and that wouldn't be a problem. But then again, bahnstormer has a cool sig so you wouldn't want to block that :)

If you install adblock it'll allow you to block individual images rather than an entire domain.

If you also get Filterset.G ( http://www.pierceive.com/ ) you automatically get all sorts of ads blocked by default as well.
