Yeah, since I was 16, I'm 20 now.

My G1 actually but I get my G2 this January. I've already been driving since I was 14, though. :)

I got mine a little late...at 19...which was 14 months ago...

I got my license a few months after my 16th birthday. I finally got rid of my 'N' license this summer.

An 'N' license in British Columbia basically means you are a 'new driver' which really doesn't change or mean anything. You just have to have a big ugly green 'N' sticker in your window when you are driving - yet most young drivers just don't bother putting it up - and getting a full license just means you don't have to have the stupid 'N' anymore. It's a system unique to British Columbia, and it's a really stupid system. :?

I don't. I'm 16 for another month. My birthday is in Christmas and the age required to drive is 17. Hopefully my first car will be an RX-8. You hear that Renesis?

Zyran... maybe when I'm around KL and I see a RX-8 with a P sticker on it I would know its you :D ... btw P sticker sort of means the same as a N thing that Zenon was explaining he had in British Columbia

Wait, wait, in B.C. you can drive alone with an 'N' License? Cause here in Ontario when you get your G1 at 16 (written test, first phase of license) you have to drive with somebody that has a full G license and has atleast 4 years of experience (you know cause they have four white dots on a red background under their picture on their license) and you can only drive from 6am to midnight and no highway or anything like that. Then you can go get your G2 in 8 months (if you take a driver's training course) or 12 months (if you just wait) and take a roadtest and if you pass you get your G2 which allows you to drive alone but you can only have as many passengers as there are working seatbelts (duh) and a blood alcohol level of 0 (duh).

But in B.C. you don't have to have anybody with you when you have an N license?!

The only restrictions on an N license in British Columbia are that you must have a 0 blood-alcohol rating whenever you are driving (so absolutely no drinking at all), and you have to have the big green 'N' on the back of your car. You have a lot less points on your license than a full license too, so you can lose your license just from having a few tickets (for those non-Canadians, our licenses have points, every ticket costs points - when they run out, you lose your license).

I've heard they're thinking of putting a limit on passengers with the 'N' license, but they never had one in the 5-6 years I had mine. The entire time I had it I practically never put my 'N' up on my car, so realistically the only limit is the 0 blood-alcohol level. Because the limits practically mean nothing, a lot of people are just not bothinger to get rid of the 'N'.

I got my provisional liscence in june '03 and passed my test to get my full license in December '03. With the provisional you have to drive with a person accompanying you over the age of 21 who has had a full license for 3 years, you arn't allowed on the motorways and you have to show red L (or D) plates at the front and back of the car. You are allowed up to six points on your license for the first 2 years after passing (a minor speeding offense is 3 points), after 2 years the allowance is 12 points.

God bless the welsh!

D stand for dysgwr, welsh for learner.

Had mine at 16, had the one to drive alone a few months ago at 17, and in two years at 19 i'll have my full liscence (more points and 0.08 alcohol limit istead of 0)
