So a while ago people going to motor shows could see this monster on the Dodge/ Chrysler stands:

this is basically a humongous motorbike which has the engine of the... Dodge Viper. Announced top speed: more than 600 Km/h (370 mph)!!! People stood in awe in front of it but kindof knew that it was just a style exercise, it would never actually be sold... well, they were wrong because aparently a very small series will actually be made and sold!!! And I must say that the pricetag of 500.000 USD isn't that much when you think of the exclusivity and performance it delivers (supposing it won't kill you first...). I mean, back in the days a McLaren F1 costed twice the price and it only did 380 Km/h (236 mph) tops...

anyway, in case noone believes me, here's the link to the article in french (I guess you can find it in english too if you google it)

Who wants to buy a suicide for 500.000$ anyway? :bangin:

Who wants to buy a suicide for 500.000$ anyway?

you know, boys will be boys... The large block AC Cobra was considered a "widow maker" in the 70s and now it's one of the most appreciated classic sports car ever...

It's cool as a concept, but in reality I think it will be a disaster.

Supposedly the aerodynamics are so bad that at anything approaching 150mph the rider would just be sucked off the bike.

Secondly 600km/h is just so completely unrealistic that I can't believe Dodge made the claim. There are Hayabusas that have been tuned to produce more horsepower (with 1/2 the weight), that have trouble reaching 250mph.

Finally there is no way that thing is going to go around a corner.

So

this is old news anyway, they made a few, most of them museum pieces since this shit can't turn

There is no way it's gonna be a classic. The AC was a revolution, it won races, etc. This thing can't even turn.. :|

It's a nice idea, but where are you going to find 600km/h capable tires? I'd rather buy one of those motorcycles with big block Chevy 502s in 'em.

it's got torque! lol :bangin:

Do you think so?

From the same V10 engine as the viper, i assume it has a lot of torque

Word....gets an "uncool" vote for the wall from me...maybe even Michael Jackson uncool.

ROFL!!! That would be soooo cool :)

Anyway, for all the uncool claims: of course this isn't meant to be used to carry your groceries in it... duh... It's just one of those things you keep in your garage and brag about to your friends (supposing you have the money...). Just imagine a conversation:
- Hello chaps, I just bought myself a little Ferrari Enzo, top speed 350 km/h
- Ah ok, that's cool. I bought a Koenigsegg which does 390...
and then you come:
- HAHAHAHAHA!! Are these supposed to be cars or golf karts? My Tomahawk does 600...

You know the male attitude when you just have to have something that's better than your friends'... well it won't get any better than this unless they buy a military jet or something :) I say it has its value, even if it can't corner :)

Hmm anyone else look at that and think "train tracks", just hop it on and off you go.
