Kong in Concert is a collaborative arrangement project born from the music of Donkey Kong Country and created for the purposes of reviving, reinterpreting, and rearranging its entire soundtrack with our combined talents, honoring those who originally composed it, and reawakening the nostalgia and love for a landmark videogame.

I just gave it a listen and it seems promising so far.

umm i aint gonna download that shit...has n e one listened to it...and gone bannanas LOL GEDDDITTTT, just jk

If you like video-game based music, you should also check out a band called The Minibosses. They are a guitar-based band with strong metal influences that almost exclusively play covers of video game theme songs. They have an absolutely awesome cover of the theme songs from Castlevania 3 and Megaman 2. :music:

I don't know if I like video game based music. I didn't even knew that this was a whole genre. It's the first example I've came across. Depends on the quality of the songs I guess. If it's good is I'll give it a listen.
Gotta check out the Band you spoke of.

^ I don't like 90% of the video game based music out there. The only video game based band I listen to regularily is the Minibosses.

If you want even more video game music, look for the soundtrack of Katamari Damacy. The game is worth buying for the soundtrack alone, but if you don't have a PS2 or can't find the game, definetly check out the soundtrack. It's hard to describe - I think the only way I could describe it is by saying it is Japanese and very very crazy. :D

The only Game sountrack I've ever downloaded..erm bought is the Shenmue one, it's fantastic :)

I used to listen to video game music non-stop and became a member and frequent poster at www.gamingfm.com a while ago - since gone off it for a while - but I do still love the music.

This whole genre is very weird.

Zenon, do you know what that Metallica music that is played with a cello (and other classical instruments) is called?

Hmmm, maybe 'chamber-metal'?

The only band I listen to that uses a cello a lot is 'Godspeed You Black Emperor!', but I'd imagine you are talking about stuff like Apocalyptica.

The Metallica album played with an orchestra is called "S & M" and is by far my favourite Metallica album - in fact, I think I'll go buy it right now :D

***EDIT - ?10??! - forget that! lol

Currently listening to: Warning - Green Day - Warning (2000)

There is also an album by Apocalyptica called 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos'. That may be what you are looking for.
