Don't let money change ya

My cheap ebay top did that as well. I think it could be getting pinched. You know a new top is only about 130$ onebay if you get a vinyl roof. BTW, on the lens polishing, just using some rubbing compound if you already have some. always works for me.

I was looking at new tops for mine, and $130 seems like the average price for a plastic rear window. I am liking this one though, http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAZDA-MIATA...nvertible-top-With-Glass-Window-/310261743528. Just need to figure out if it will fit around my rollbar. I'll get on that later though.

Well, I went through a tense few days when I was expecting the rear window to fall into the car.

Luckily at this point I had already ordered a new soft top. On install day I lowered the top for the first time in over a month:

Here is the rip with my dirty finger for a size reference:

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures during the process:

I'm pleased with the result. I think it looks a little awkward but maybe that's just me, especially since this top was made to factory specifications.

From what I've read these "ripples" are normal when the top is first installed and will eventually smooth out on their own as the vinyl stretches:

Speaking of stretching (giggidy), it took two men to latch each corner of the new top, even with the latches at their loosest setting. Five days later (tonight) I went out to check the top for leaks and see how the vinyl is stretching. Good news! I ended up tightening the latches almost all the way and still closing the top without issues. Top-down motoring shall return this weekend

What brand top is that?

Extra points if you dye your hair blue and wear green shirts whenever you drive it.

Just don't come to Michigan with those colors :p

Your car is Michigan State green but the top is UMich blue. It's its own rival.

As mentioned before:
Ordered new wheels and tires from TireRack back in March. Both were out-of-stock but I was told that they would be back in stock by early April. That changed to mid-April. Then late April. Now they are saying late May. TireRack just lost nearly $1k in sales due to some inventory manager's incompetence, it seems. Ended up ordering a new set of Azenis from VulcanTire (highly recommend them based on past experience) for $336 shipped.
Had the tires put on this morning. Needless to say the last few weeks I've been busy sending my old tires a nice farewell (on a closed racetrack in Mexico, with a professional driver at the wheel, of course)

Did some digging in stacks of old DVDR's today. Found these on a disc with "car junk" written on it:

It was almost as though we were both in AZ with our cars last night :p
